What is the differences between Medalist 1 and 2? So far I can see the following:

1. The lens is hard coated Lumenized on Medalist II
2. There is no fine focus on II but instead there is a flash socket.
3. There is no self timer on II

Anything else? Apparently there was a problem with some mechanical thing on the I that was fixed on the II. What do you know?

Thanks
Gary

Thanks but I'm not interested in Ken Ruth. Im starting to wonder if there is a paid bot running that automatically drops that link into any thread mentioning the key words "Kodak Medalist" to hijack the thread. Its like being at a party and rude guy interrupting conversations to inject his business card. To be honest I'm getting kinda sick of it and Im starting to not like the guy and I dont even know him.

He is helpful and very knowledgable, I like Matt, Im just tired of hearing about Ken Ruth whenever Kodak Medalists are discussed. Thanks Matt, nothing against you I know you are just trying to help.

FWIW, Farley Mowat used a Medalist for all the photographs he took in his later Arctic adventures - used in support of his chronicle (and some would say enhancement) in "Never Cry Wolf".

The Kodak lab in North Vancouver, BC, Canada that my father worked out of had a repair facility for Kodak cameras. The head technician there was excellent with Retinas and Medalists. Each year, before leaving for the Arctic, Mr. Mowat would bring in his Medalist for a tune up. He was apparently quite a character, and fascinating to talk Arctic photography with.

Ken Ruth is to Medalists as Greg Weber is to Koni-Omegas - they have expertise and experience with a niche product, and they are generous and savvy enough to share enough of it to become well known as a "go to" resource.
