It has been many many years IIRC when on pour into any tank, stainless steel in particular, the chemicals will burp and the pour will be uneven.

I'd be really careful of buying used Nikkor reels. As anyone who used them much would know, if you drop one it usually means it gets bent, even if slightly, after which it's a nightmare to load as the grooves (for want of a better word) are out of whack. I've been a happy Patterson tank/reels user for many years now.I mentioned Nikor Professional tanks in post 16 and that they differ only in the lid design. There's one on eBay now, item number 313889066720, and it's easy to see the differences in the lid (just search for Nikor and you'll find many listing with good images). The standard lid has one "shoulder" and the cap has straight sides, while the professional lid has two "shoulders" and a (larger diameter) cap with a flared edge at the bottom.
