I just got some of this film in and was surprised to find ADOX 400 on a label on the bottom of the boxes. I assumed it was Forte or some other eastern european film. I have been under the assumption that old Adox is now Efke and new Adox is rebranded Ilford or something. Does anyone know anything about this film? I am mostly just curious. (I am sure John at J&C knows, but if his agreements with the manufacturer prevent comment, I will understand.)

I understood it to be Forte, but now that you mention it, I just noticed the Adox labels. More confusion. I suspect it to be Forte, because Efke hasn't been manufacturing a 400-speed emulsion (just 25, 50, and 100) while Forte has been (200 as well).

The Classic 400 film is Forte 400 as it has always been. The ADOX sticker indicates that is was not cut at Forte but by Fotokemika under our ADOX contract. In other words we bought a master roll and had it cut at a different facility. The reason for this was to ensure supply while Forte was shut down a few months ago.

Thanks for clearing that up!
