Typical! I can't even send a tornado to the right place... But maybe it should take my version of the journey? What is it's hurry? Also if we're going with classic songs for inspiration for its trip.. Wouldn't that fine Al Jolson number "California here I come....." be a better one??

After that, I think Tim has the right idea, a nice leisurely cruise back home.. via Greenland - producer of the worlds most icebergs. And for the record.. for Camera #8 I'm taking out some man-made disaster insurance.. these natural ones just cannot be relied upon!

Fred the enema worked.. and then some. But now we need something to bung it back up again so we have something to stand on.. we're sinking fast!

I believe Leiber/Stoller get most of the writing credits but I suspect that perennial rapper TRad. deserves most of the recognition. :whistling:

Naaa! The BeaTles themselves recorded it and I still remember Lieber/Stollerman printed on the label of a VINYL record, still have a few hundred of those also, not only old cameras!

Who the hull have heard of TRad? and wut is s "rapper"?
We was talking SINGERS here, not loudmouth talkers..... :whistling:

Europe is back on track!

We're back on track, I hold the camera here in my hand, #7e, the formerly lost european camera.

I have the entire original envelope, and nothing has been touched inside!

The only alteration was that the professional mail detectives gently removed the address label, and found MY address underneat and sendt the entire envelope back.

Inside nothing has been touched, all the paperwork is there, labels etc etc.
I will put this padded envelope inside a bigger envelope, so that everyone downstream can see what went down.

Handwritten on the envelope is something probably from Royal Mail trying to deliver on the fair isle: "Try at this address : Try Prince street , Ryde"

What I now need is a brand spanking new PM with the current address from Steve, and the camera will be on its way immediately.

This is a remarkable display of professional determination and skill by Royal Mail, I'm not sure if my trace had any real effect, or if I'd got this returned anyway, but here it is, longing and ready to go!

SO STEVE, YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS AGAIN PLEASE!

PS PS Update:

"This is the result of MASSIVE pressure on Langley, VA. Agents was able to intercept these documents and held them captive on a secret location in Scotland.
Only after repeated personal messages from our Crown Prince to the director at Langley, and political pressure from our Foreign Minister and Defence Minister, reminding the director of what was at stake here, an undercover operation was set in motion, disguising this unprecedented theft of private mail as a simple "lost in mail" transaction, tying to put the blame on Her Majesty's Royal Mail. However the Royal Mail never fell for the ruse, and handled the matter efficiently and by the book."

I have sent a PM with my actual, real, postman recognisable address.

I think the skill must be on the part of your country's mail service as I just got a show of apathy from ours. Probably because the contract is with you as a sender rather than me as the receiver.

The handwritten note must be from the owner of my old house. My son did go round to see if anything had turned up but was told that some post had been received and sent back. The timing of this was perfect as my six months of mail re-direction had just run out!

Anyway the race is on again and as long as there is some sort of holdup with the US/Canada camera crossing the Atlantic, we should get back into the lead (although obviously this isn't a race!).

To all other rest of the world participants - please accept my apologies for causing this hold up as ultimately, it was my fault. Or as Bart Simpson says "I can't help but feel in some way responsible".

They knew it all along!

The britons! its stated on the envelope already, Steve, the Try Prince street part! You can see for yourself when the original envelope reaches you, inside the new one.

The britons knew, but diplayed only apathy since noone actually tried that address, that someone a little higher in the system suggested.
So if it isn't right, we're not about to set it right -right?

Probably they are still cross with you, islanders that refuse to just roll over for them, I suggest start printing money, get you're own flag and set up your own mail, issuing stamps with just cameras on them!
Probably go for a republic too, to really rub it in!

With a little flexibility and ingenuity from Royal Mail the little camera would have been on its way to asia by now!

We did have our own mail service with Isle of Wight stamps for a few weeks in the 1970s when The Royal Mail went on strike.

It wasn't legal (as far as English law is concerned) but it was done anyway by a little shop in my town which normally sells stamps and albums to collectors (and still does).

Eric: Take your time, you want to get this right. No sense in rushing into things and having your camera get lost again. And when you had your package in at the post office, be sure to give it to the young fellow with the very large beard. He's a friend of mine.

Camera 7e is up and running again!

Just came back from the post office, the gals there was visibly proud when I offered kudos for their sterling service.... (that's the way Fred, bribing them you know, NOW there will be speedy delivery, and that bearded fellow? I saw one in a dark corner shackled..... one of yours?)

I dunno if it leaves the premises today or tomorrow, I was shooting to be at the PO before 13:00 hours today as i *think* mail leaves at that time, but that plan fell apart.

Anyways, it leaves here tomorrow, at the latest, will be crossing the North Sea hopefully by monday morning, lets put the pedal to the metal now guys!

Excellent news Erik!!!

Can you offer the congratulations of the entire nation of Ireland, England, The Isle of Wight and the rest of the World (well.. all apart from US and Canada who might be a little miffed at them) for their speedy return and therefore happy ending to this saga!

Steve can I recommend that you include some chicken grease in the parcel so it slips speedily through the hands of the rest of the list?

Fred.. hush!

I'm vegetarian so it will have to be soya grease!

A vegan camera! I'm all over it. We will have to make our own film with Agar-Agar

I will put this padded envelope inside a bigger envelope, so that everyone downstream can see what went down.

Damn, I love this group.

Come on North America!!!!

Steve,
If it helps to lift your spirits, I went to the PO today. No sign of parcels from Colorado yet.

Chris

Uh oh... Well, it should have been there today. If not tomorrow, let me know and I'll see what those crafty Europeans did.

Mike
