John passed the camera over to me today. I hope to get out tomorrow. Hopefully it will be in Freds hands by Sunday.

I love grilling, but I think The Vicious Chicken of Bristol is a bit early. Wait for March or August 2011 to get optimal appreciation.

As you can see, we have our own Bristol about 4.5 hours away from me.

What should I photograph? How about the box it's shipping in? That way I can receive and send from the post office all in the same visit.

Oh my. I haven't used a disposable camera in a long time. I didn't realize how feather touch the shutter was. I wound, went to get out of my car to take a shot... And took a picture of the messy inside of my car instead. Quickly wound and tried to get the shot I wanted but i think i was late.

Well. Um. Darn. So much for an interesting pair of shots from me. I hope the rest do better!

Been there, done that - just to document the thing.

But for iddjot pictures like that I use a iddjot camera - a digital!

But I CAN show pictures of how Camera 7e looked like the 1hour and 55 minutes it was in my hands. And that might be good, since we probably must start a criminal investigation of where the mail lost this thing, since it hasn't shown up on the Isle of Wight yet!

I wonder if the inside of his car is cleaner than mine? Feather touch is right. But, what else should we expect from such a precision piece of machinery?

Photo
- Sharpness
+ Motion blur
- Correct colors
+ Strange cropping
- Normal tones
+ Pour some reptile blood on your photo and fix it on a diaper
+ Name it "The chicken crossed the road. Period." (In klingon language, of course)
+ Add some bla ("Slightly Mapplethorpesque but in a squat, Buckminster Fuller-style geodesic dome, say, or a Constructivist information tower by the likes of the Russian avant-garde's Gustav Klucis or Stenberg brothers. A tall, ladder-like rocket ship looks like salvage from 1950s Disneyland.")

Update on Camera 7e

Camera 7e is MIA, since inadvertedly, an old address did sneak in before send-off.

So apparently the euro-camera is now lost somewhere in the UK, in the hands of Royal mail.

Today I was at my local post office and sendt off a formal request to trace the letter, if possible, and have it sendt back to me. If it shows up, I now have the right address, and will repack and send off in a better option than I did choose the last time (traceable).

Steve offered to cover the extra postage, but I respectfully decline that, if it shows up here, I feel this is a matter of honor for me, to get it safely to the next contender.

I dunno if it is possible to trace this from the other end, but the special branch that does these things in the Norwegian mail goes under the name of the Sherlock Holmes-branch, and they solve mysteries like this every day, so my hopes are still high that we will be able to solve this.

What puzzles me is how the damn yankees and the not-so gentlemanly southerners was able to get to Sile's computer and mix up the addresses among us europeans, most likely it goes to show their omnipresent heavy hand!

Thanks for that Erik.. it's a lot of bother to have gone to, I know, so I really appreciate it.

As for the US infiltration of my computer.. I have to admit I've always been somewhat suspicious of Tim (in San Jose)'s loyalties.. He was shooting from the other hip this time round from Aachen in Germany.. and then flying over Ireland to get back the the San Jose in the US of A..

Methinks he may just have done some computer hacking while over Irish waters...

Those Americans.. you just can't turn your back on them for one minute!

I think those Americans and Canadians somehow hacked into my computer and changed the function of the 'submit message' key so it deleted my new address message instead of sending it.

I will see if our Post Office can do a trace of the parcel but I'm not too hopeful. We're not very good at that sort of thing over here!

The momentum of the North American camera has shamed the ROTW camera into hiding. It has given up hope. To save its self-esteem, it might latch on to a Chinese tourist and find it's way into some remote Communist village, never to be seen by ape huggers again... or not.
Time will tell... :munch:

The tricky part was making the new address label I had printed up look just like the labels you sent over in the package Sile.

But American injinuity triumphed. Nobody else noticed it was hand printed. In crayon. In orange.

Ah time to repent!

And time to step forward and tell us all what REALLY went down with camera 6? I've been reading up in the archives, I bet those #%%&&##" 'mericans had their hand in that too!

I'll have my eyes checked, it was ME that didn't notice the orange address label......

PS I better have my head checked too!

We should have a Do-Over with Camera 8.
Same Members Same Route, this is no fun
with the camera being lost. Sign me up !

Ron
.

While it seems not, it is hard to insert 'Tim in Aachen' into any type of schedule.

Plans to be back there but no definitive plans, ya know?

I think that is too early, the jury is still out on wether the camera is actually LOST or just delayed in the big postal system, lets wait until I get an answer from the researchers in the mial unit.

I'll keep ya all posted.

But of course I want to sign up for Camera 8 immediately!!

He he I betcha you'd find a lot of crazy norskies in Nashville, country music is BIG over here!
Local stereotype used to be a young fellow in an old banged-out swedish car (volvo) living in the car, playing C&W 24/7, fat as a zeppeliner from too many burgers and coke - in short excellent picture material!

Do they sing the English version of the songs or are they just that style of music, but with Norwegian lyrics?
Do you have a direct translation for "redneck"?
If not, I think you need one. Make them feel at home. We don't need any more over here!

Both ways norskie lyrics and scanlish version.... one dude have even apperared on Garnd 'Ole Opry. He is a standup guy BTW, Bjørgo Haaland, but getting old.

We DO call them rednecks, no need to translate a perfectly superb expression! And truth be told, some of my best friends are! Most of these guys are resourceful and helpsome, can fix themselves supper by way of fishingrod or hunting rifle any day or season, and will make your car move, no matter what! I have no disdain fro redneck either side of the Big Pond. Some of them are funny though! On the other hand I betchyou they think WE are also, wasting time on sumkin' so totally useless as picturetaking stuff!

Have a nice weekend Chris.
