It will be off to Matt in tomorrow's mail. Just fyi we can't all be Cartier-Bresson, and I can prove it

You shot your shot while wandering the streets of Paris?!!!!

Hows that for a turnaround?

Got the european camera today at 13:40, got my jacket, grabbed the camera and a couple of exposuremeters that also needed to be calibrated against my Lunapro SBC, just to make sure there was enough light.

Made my two exposures, #21 and #20, fingers crossed.

Quickly madse it back home wrapped the camera with a little extra padding (no problems from Switzerland to here)

The camera is now in the mail, will leave PO first thing in the morning making its way to Isle of Wight, which it should reack by the end of the week at the very latest.

Lucky there was a clear blue sjy today, sunup, and both my pictures more or less was what I planned.

Great thing, this was fun I wanna be part of #8 and 9 also...

Erik

Wonderful news Erik!
And even more so that you enjoyed this little venture.. at the end of the day, isn't that what this is all about?

(the fact that we're winning doesn't hurt either.. but shhh....)

It's hard to believe that when I get it, it will be into its second half of its travel in such a short time.

Steve.

As long as we can keep the momentum going we will soon see the pictures... and beat the Americans

The pictures are not important!!!

Steve.

I documented its stay here of course, all the 115 minutes of it, but being a heretic, I grabbed what I found to accompany me, alas it was my canon sx100IS which is a di****l little bugger. I repent!
)

Don't you mean the North Americans?:munch:

I'm standing on guard, waiting for the camera, as we speak.

Of course Matt, its those rebellious individuals living in the 48 lower colonies we're talking about!

Now take your time, ponder upon the contents of the box, check the camera over carefully, sit down and do the math, calculate carefully if there's enough light for an exposure, maybe start a search on Ebay for another, and better exposure meter to make DEAD sure the pictures come out right....

In short, there's absolutely no rush to leave this very valuable piece of equipment to those savages down there that refuses to honor the Queen, even!

LOL!

Have a nice experience.

Erik

The EUROPEAN camera documented.

All set and ready for my two pictures!

I could go through every post to see if we decided upon a theme...... but instead I will ask.

Is there a theme?

Steve.

Steve:

The "Rest of the World" are each going to put the camera on a tripod and shoot 30 day time exposures .

No theme for us in North America.

Always eager to help

I'm overwhelmed by your generosity of thought and willingness to help out Matt.. however in your rush to aid Steve you got one little detail wrong...

The "Rest of the World" should be 30second time exposures not day... but I can see how easy it is to type day by mistake :D

I believe each member of 'Team America' has to take a photograph of a lunar eclipse on a Thursday.

Steve.

..under a gibbous moon..

The "USA & Canada" camera has arrived in Delta.

I'll report out soon .

Erik

Is there a #8 and #9 in the works yet?
If not, I'll volunteer. I've got a pair of 6x9 folders I can load up with some film. Maybe sending both simultaneously like this one: one to the eastern hemisphere, the other to the western hemisphere.
Any thoughts/comments?
Chris
p.s. I would like to see #6 and at least one of the #7's make it home to roost before any more start traveling.

Hey Chris!
If I'm part of the western hemisphere here in Norway: count me in on that folder!!

There will be only 8 seats on that flight and I WAnt one!!

PROMISE A FAST AND EXPEDIENT TURN-AROUND LIKE ON #7, BUT CANNOT GUARANTEE 1H 55 MINIUTES EVERY TIME!

Erik

Good heavens, count me in on one of those folders!
