True, wanted some nice photos so took my best camera at the time! That was its last trip though unfortunately as I switched systems. They aren't worth much these days either so it sits at home...
Once when I was shooting a flower with my Pentax 645n, using tripod, 120mm macro lens, right angle finder, focus rail - the whole nine yards - my neighbor called out "Mighty fancy camera, George. Is that a Nikon?" I explained that it was a Pentax, and used film like the old Kodak brownies used to. I don't think she knew what to say.
Guess my neighborhood isn't classy enough for the Hasselblad question. And so it goes.
I was at the bank today and the guy at the next window said "that's a Leica". It was, and we had a great conversation for about twenty minutes. Former NYT photog.
Nice camera but still not a Hasselblad.
Me too!I have been asked this question a few times, although it never seems to be when I'm actually using my Hasselblad... The most recent occasion was three weeks ago at a restaurant when my Rolleiflex 2.8E was mistaken for a Hasselblad.
To be honest, I'm just glad that someone is taking interest in film cameras, especially medium format.
Don't let that get to your head.Yeah, but the really weird part of it was I was standing at a urinal at the time, and didn't have a camera with me...
Thomas:
You should have told him that in Swedish the correct pronunciation for the name is "Hasselblad".
We can't all be historiansnever seen a 35mm camera with a motor drive?
Haha ...another classic ITAH moment!(Thread resurrection)
Had an open house at the artist coop where I have my shooting studio this past Saturday. Had my RB67 set up on a tripod and was twice asked: “Is that a Hasselblad?”
