I have to say I do miss Aggie and her contributions here. I mentioned in a thread once about lusting after a particular camera but could not afford a few grand for it. She PM'd and offered to post her one from the US to Ireland as a loan until I could afford one. I did actually decline but I'll never forget that generosity.

I had a similar gesture and of all the things in life that can happen, an offer of support and comfort from someone I have not even met in person is truly unusual in these times.

If all I receive is the first issues of the magazine then I will treasure them on the bookshelf and not even think twice about it.

One of my closest friend's father is a leader in the Hell's Angels. The man donates a tonne to local charities and provides support to individuals. Plus he's a loving, kind father and devoted family man.

My point in this: one's generosity to some should not excuse one's bad behaviour to others.

Oh yeah, before I get any hate mail, I am not saying Aggie's behaviour is in any way to the same level as those of the Hell's Angels. Though, I'm sure she could go toe to toe with them! :D She is feisty.

Regards, Art.

I'm sorry her problems with APUG has nothing to do with my money and subscription. If she has a problem with him handle it, I had nothing to do with so don't leave me hanging. She may be a nice person from what i have heard. But again I'm nice too EXCEPT when someone F___s with my money.
I was going to get a subscription before the first issue but I had a bad feeling about it and even after I subscribed once the first issue came out something told me it was a bad move.

I don't actually know what the falling out was over and its probably not important to know. But I'm wondering if you guys could all kiss and make up?

In a professional setting in the professional world I don't think that's an appropriate nor acceptable gesture to simply 'kiss and makeup'. People are out money and time, among other things. On my end, I'm speaking from first hand experience.

one's generosity to some should not excuse one's bad behavior to others.

Amen, Art.

Your 'feeling' was right...I know ours was.

What happened to Aggie/Emulsion mag?

I seldom visit the forums these days but in the past few weeks have been here a couple of times. I noticed no Aggie or Emulsion magazine info that is current. What happened?

I thought she was a part of the sponsoring group and contributed regularly but now it seems she has disappeared. I know she went to Mexico recently and is supposed to be coming out with a new issue of the magazine, apparently trying to get caught up. I have posted she/the publishers can learn a lot by looking at View Camera and listening to the opinions/advice of Steve Simmons as he has been through it and has a successful magazine.

Anyone know what is going on and where she is these days on the forums?

from what i remember, she was upset about photographs posted in the
gallery and left apug and pulled sponsorship.
i have no idea where she is now, i know she is at tuan's site once in a blue moon.
maybe people on the LF site have a better idea where she is, and what she is doing,
i think david parker is still in touch with her ...

Last I was in touch, she said Dave Parker wasn't involved in the magazine anymore, though his wife does press checks, which are infrequent, so they're not in contact often.

After all of the fuss over Kodak not answering questions directed to them, I think that it is incumbent on Aggie to do the same in some fashion or another, even if she does not like APUG any more.

Why do we get no answer?

You could equally ask why the Emulsion website is not updated it still says about the launch of the first issue.

Unfortunately the magazine was partially spawned from her involvement in this forum, it was her choice to leave this site and she had her own reasons. But I'm sure that her non involvement must have a detrimental effect on potential new sales.

Well folks, I am back only to answer questions about Emulsion.

Aggie underwent gall bladder surgery a couple of weeks ago and she is currently recuperating. As I posted on the Large Format forum if you are missing any issues please send me an e mail and I will gladly pass the information along to Aggie.

The magazine is still being published, she is currently working on issues 5, 6 and 7 hoping to get issue 5 printed as soon as she has recuperated and get the following issues ready ahead of time so delays like those which have been happening in the present do not repeat.

If you have subscribed (like I have) and you have not received all your issues, do not worry you will get them. If you have subscribed, received some issues but do not wish to wait for the remaining issues, let me know and I will talk with Aggie about giving you a partial refund. While Aggie might have bitten a bit more than she could chew I know she is not dishonest and has no plans on cheating people out of their money [...].

Folks, from what I have read in this thread those who have susbcribed to the magazine, not received their issues and have not gotten any responses from Aggie have a legitimate complaint and it is the reason I offered to help her with dealing with the complaints. On the other hand, some in this thread have an ax to grind with Aggie, so not all that you read in this thread is entirely accurate.

Since I do not know if I will be able to log in again, I am posting my hotmail address rossorabbit@hotmail.com in case you want to reach me with any questions, complaints or requests for reimbursment.

Wow, thanks Jorge! Glad to see you here as well. Gall bladders can be quite a bit of pain and can actually make you think you are having a heart attack in severe cases so I don't blame Aggie one bit for being out of circulation. Give my best will you Jorge?

Are there any Humanists left in this country?

When I was a Radiation Therapist at the University hospital a patient was late coming down from the floor for treatment on the machine next to mine. The tech starting ranting and raving, "where the hell is she, I have patients to do and if she doesn't show up pretty soon there will be no treatment for her today". Then she called the floor and demanded to know were the patient was and why she wasn't in the cancer center.

A voice on the line said "she just died".

Curt- if you knew Aggie, you'd not ask that question. Feisty is an understatement when describing her. Aggie would go to hell and kick Satan himself out and start redecorating if given the chance. And she's not one to withhold commentary or opinion for anything. She's had aches, pains, and major surgery before, and been posting away at 10+ posts per day fresh out of the recovery room. The silence therefore is deafening.

I'd delete that as a personal attack, FC, but I'll leave it, because Aggie would probably take it as a complement.

Aggie is a singular person - no denying that.

I'd still like to get Issue 4 (I have 1 through 3) and I'm signed up for 2 years total.

But I figure I can be patient about this. After all it is a photo folio publication - not a newsmagazine so it's not like stuff will be stale when (er...if) I get the issues due me.

So I wish Aggie a speedy recovery and hope I get my issues someday.

I don't think issue 4 is out yet; at least I haven't heard anyone who has received it yet. I have a subscription as well, but haven't received it.

There was nothing untruthful in what I said, even if it was stated a bit colorfully. She's a take-no-prisoners kind of woman. No personal attack intended there.

I know that as well. That is why I posted what I did.

She is certainly forthright with everyone in her opinions and I wish her well.

Knowing Aggie's nationality (same as mine) it is normal to express our opinions straight without much wrapping. Sometimes it can cause a few tensions though.
Wish her a speedy recovery.

Nationality? You mean western 'merican?

Well yeah, ceptin' that most folk here are findin' that it ain't like she's been expressin' opinions so much as she's been a bit tight lipped lately!
