Is it just me, or is this one of the ugliest cameras that you have ever seen? I know that they have defended why they are not able to make a camera similar to SX-70, but to go from the SX-70 to this thing...I just don't know. I wish them all the best...

probly looking for something to appeal to the younger set who are into steampunk stuff. What the heck, if it works for them, who am I to criticize?

i always thought the Mercury II was the ugliest thing around, myself.

Looks like a Dalek.

They don't say whether they flash can be disabled. No one, Lomography, Fuji, etc., ever say whether the flash can be disabled on their pop-culture cameras.

On first glance I thought it was a belly-button ornament. And not a pretty one.
Apparently not. Further looks gave me the impression it is trying hard to be a pinhole camera.

The style reminds me of the Keystone Wizard XF 1000, so not particularly attractive. I don't know why anyone would pay $300 for the privilege of shooting instant film at $3 a shot, especially when there are so many nicely-preserved Polaroid cameras available, but if it helps the Impossible project keep their film production going, great.

Do you guys think fuji will ever think of the professional or serious photographers when making instant film/cameras?
I really like what I get from instant film and my clients and friends really like it too, the problem is fuji cameras are so ugly and with 0 control, right now I use impossible film but I can't afford to shoot much, its 20euros here.

They seem to be clueless - they think their entire market is comprised of casual snapshooters.

The Fuji Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic has more controls than early Polaroids (the controls are similar to the later Spectra cameras), however it produces *business card* sized prints!

Not sure about the Wide 300.

The Lomo Instant Wide White Edition has even more controls, which is nice, and it takes the wide Instax film, but it's very wide and very white.

It seems to be succesful as I saw in the web that they sold off the first batch faster than expected. Together with it has come a revamp of the color film line, the gen 3, which I'm quite interested in.

Interestingly, an old Instax, the 500AF (IIRC) is quite a cult and well valued because it has more extensive features. Quick google and I understand that it has Autofocus, triplet lens and flash control. Fuji themselves seem to be quite happy with the current kawaii demographic, because this and a B/W film have been argued around to be possible if they wanted.
I myself have an SX70 that was off to a good home and here it landed, beautiful machine.

Impossible Film does call for careful and methodical usage... both for price and delicateness of the material. Recently they ran the Spring sale, so packs were down to 16€. Now it is a good moment to grab the older generation films. I did take a couple packs of BW 2.0 (this one is the same still) but will get the new color soon.
Indeed, Medium Format Slide film comes at about the price of Impossible.

The camera comes in several colors including black.

I'm just happy they made a new "Polaroid" camera at all. Especially if it helps keeping this format alive.
The Impossible film is perfect for a emulsion lift.

Still better than what Lomography came up with in the last few years (price wise and quality wise). And look how (commercially) succesfull Lomography is. But whatever we "1st generation analogue shooters" (1GenAS) think of these items, it's still good for the analogue market, thus attracting a whole new generation to analogue photography. They do buy film and some of them will move on to the "real" cameras and lenses as soon as they find out what is (still) out there.
