It seems to be succesful as I saw in the web that they sold off the first batch faster than expected. Together with it has come a revamp of the color film line, the gen 3, which I'm quite interested in.
Do you guys think fuji will ever think of the professional or serious photographers when making instant film/cameras?
I really like what I get from instant film and my clients and friends really like it too, the problem is fuji cameras are so ugly and with 0 control, right now I use impossible film but I can't afford to shoot much, its 20euros here.
Interestingly, an old Instax, the 500AF (IIRC) is quite a cult and well valued because it has more extensive features. Quick google and I understand that it has Autofocus, triplet lens and flash control. Fuji themselves seem to be quite happy with the current kawaii demographic, because this and a B/W film have been argued around to be possible if they wanted.
I myself have an SX70 that was off to a good home and here it landed, beautiful machine.
Impossible Film does call for careful and methodical usage... both for price and delicateness of the material. Recently they ran the Spring sale, so packs were down to 16€. Now it is a good moment to grab the older generation films. I did take a couple packs of BW 2.0 (this one is the same still) but will get the new color soon.
Indeed, Medium Format Slide film comes at about the price of Impossible.
