Ironically, warmer developers can lead to cold tones with gold toner. But I see no value to using a standard MQ developer like #76. I generally use 130 and then a
combination of toners, depending on the specific effect I want.

Mainly a personal tweak of gold chloride which wastes much less gold than GP-1, sometimes Selenium 1:20 very quickly if at all, and sometimes a substitute for Kodak Brown toner, again quickly and very dilute. The latter can be a bit unpredictable because it has to be in the washer awhile for the final visual effect to stabilize. I like subtle tone control, including split tones, but not any over-the-top look.

Dektol doesn't give Ilford's Warmtone paper a whole lot of warmth. Its definitely warmer than neutral, but the warmth is subtle. I have acquired the Bergger warmtone developer and will try it with the Ilford paper soon.
This has been my experience. I really like Ilford's WT paper, a lot, and Dektol is sort of a standard developer I've settled on. It does have a very definite but relatively subtle warmth. The Ilford WT developer is definitely more blatant but sometimes gives a greenish tinge, which I remove with either selenium or a diluted, short bath in sepia.

I've found the Bergger Warmtone developer is the best of all I've tried, delivering excellent (though still relatively subtle) warm images.

Probably OT, but for me the best thing about Ilford WT is the way it takes toner.

I usually print on MCC110 fiber paper. I got my hands on a cheap box of Ilford warmtone fiber paper.
It was close to expiration and the store had it on sale 50% off. Expires in June 2018.

I

Does Ilford provide a specific expiry date for paper on its boxes or is this a date that the store decided upon based on its storage policy?
I cannot recall ever seeing an expiry date on any boxes of Ilford paper that i have used
Thanks

They do have an expiration date and so do all other papers. It’s just an emulsion like film. It doesn’t stay fresh forever.

I understand your points ericdan, but like pentaxuser I have never seen an expiry date on any of Ilford's paper boxes...?

I do understand that the date of manufacture can be checked somewhere on the internet (??) but that's a slightly different approach / question.

Thanks for the hint! I'd love to try it.

You know what, you’re right. I just checked the box I bought. The store labeled it as expiring this summer. Based on what i don’t know. It was a handwritten sticker on the box. Nothing manufacturer labeled. Interesting. Never really noticed that. Always just assumed it’s the same as film.
The ISO is probably so low compared to films that fogging isn’t realistically an issue for paper.

Does the wraparound label indicate that it is a product of Ilford Imaging Ltd., or does it say Harman Technology Ltd.?

Well, the same store had another box of 100 sheets MGFB WT at 90% off today.
This one had a handwritten sticker saying 2015/02 on it.
In between this box and the last one I went through a brand new box of WT from Ilford. Couldn’t tell the difference between old and new and neither the difference between Dektol 1:2 or Neutol WA.
Dektol is about ¼ the price of Neutol here. I might as well stick to Dektol then.
