Dear All,

We are trying to get feedback from the ULF community on the viability / possibility of making DELTA 3200 in large and Ultra large format, I have posted a thread on the product availability forum and I would appreciate your comments / feedback if you could spare the time

Thanks

Simon :

I don't see myself using it.

I'd rather see Delta 400 in sheet sizes. I really like the tonality of Delta 400, and I would use it if it were available in sheet sizes.

I would much prefer to see Delta 100 and 400 in 5x7 inch (or make it easier to get existing 13x18cm size in the US.)

I would certainly give it a try in 4X5 but I really don't have any idea how much I would use it. Of course, I would love for you to make it, but I sure can't promise to buy very much.

I do second David's request for Delta 400, however.

Thanks so much for asking!

Paul.

I don't have shutters on my ulf lenses so fast film is not usable. I would prefer delta 25 or pan-f for long exposures in ulf sizes.

In my opinion Delta 3200 in ULF size would be absolutely fabulous. It would make possible the use of ULF cameras in ways not possible to this point, primarily in the use of much faster shutter speeds in combination with small apertures. My feeling is that the more you know about ULF the more you should like this idea.

Delta 400 was a good film for LF or ULF work, but given the availibility of TMY it would not add much to our arsenal. A film with an ASA of 3200 would really be unique, and open doors to kinds of photography not possible with the current high speed films.

I must second this opinion. A 25 film would be of more interest to me.

Same here, even if I do have some shuttered lenses for ULF.

Not ULF, but the top items in my wish list are Delta 100 and 400 in 220 size. I want decent b&w films in 220 size.

(I do use Delta 3200 in 35mm and 120 a lot.)

Dear Ryuji,

We cannot finish 220 anymore I am afraid, I posted the full reasons why not on the Black and White forum about a month back.

Sorry

Regards

Simon.

Hi,
One hitherto unmentioned use of the proposed product would be finding all the flaws in the ancient Korona, Folmer etc. holders that are often pressed into service in this field.

YES !!!! YES !!!!YES !!!! YES !!!! YES !!!!

I shoot portraits in low, quiet light. They are in focus and everything. But today, it's Leica-ville. 1/60@f/2 with 400 film. A waste of time with anything larger.

Delta 3200 in 8x10 and 11x14 means shooting without reciprocity failure, and realistic exposures from 1/4 to 1/50. And that means platinum prints that can be saleable and easy.

Yes, absolutely. Yes. Take off your tie, Simon, and go spool the coating machine. You wouldn't be toying with us, would you ???

Count me in as well. Such a magnificent film speed for ULF is mind boggling and would mean that there would be situations in low light or with some wind that would not be anywhere near off limits. The concept is making me smile very wide.....

I am assuming Sandy that you have already evaluated this film and find its properties suitable for alt processes and Azo?

Cheers!

I am assuming that coating the Delta 3200 emulsion onto a sheet film base will not only open the market to ULF use, but also to more common sheet film sizes as well (4X5, 8X10). All LF shooters could potentially benefit from the availability of a high speed film.

Delta 3200 in 4X5 for hand-held available light shooting sounds wonderful.

Long-live hand-held 4X5 photography!
