XP2 Super

Glad to hear that the better product survives!

Fantastic! My first time shooting film, was with Illford, and I felt that it did an amazing job dealing with my inabilities!

Awesome! Unless I'm doing B&W Infrared, all my B&W is Ilford. Long live Ilford!

Does that mean you can now start putting "World's sharpest iso400 chromogenic film!" on your XP2 boxes?

Thank you Simon. I have been using a lot of Kodak's BW400CN but obviously that will be coming to an end. Fortunately, as others have indicated before, it is so gratifying that Ilford remains committed to the consumer film market.

What's the noise about XP2+ being discontinued? I go to bed and then don't open my APUG site for about 16 hours and suddenly we have noise about XP2+ being discontinued?

Ilford has made it clear on numerous occasions that it has no intention to cut out any of its current range. If the noise is simply KA dropping its chromogenic film then I see no link with Ilford's stance.

If KA were to withdraw Tri-X would Ilford feel the need to announce that HP5+ will continue? I would hope not, otherwise it might make people think that Ilford's stance is is in any way connected to KA's actions.

It's nice that Ilford want to make sure that we know XP2+ is safe but it's a pity that it feels it has to.

Three cheers for Harman!

Guys, this isn't like watching your team beat the other team, this is watching a player on the other team fall with a concussion... long live kodak/fuji/ilford/agfa/ferrania ...

I found out a few months ago (via seeing it in a fleabay auction) that XP2 used to be made in 8x10. If it could be brought back, even via the ULF run, I'd think about a box or two to complement HP5 just like there's FP4/Delta at the slow end...

I tend to agree somewhat, but when I look my self in the mirror as an artist using film, there is just no way in hell I could bank the future of my career on using the medium without Ilford Harman.

And I don't even use chromogenic black and white...

But yeah, I don't look at this as the other companies suck rather than being oh-so-grateful Ilford Harman takes this stance...

I've shot Tri-X so long it's almost my blood type but I'm seriously considering following suit. But I really want KA to keep on keepin' on too. Of course I'd still be using their color. Oh well, I use a lot of Ilford already.

And Simon - way to scare us there!

XP2 Super is a great film. Once I get back to printing and developing color so I have C41 chems in stock anyway I could see myself shooting a lot of it.
