Simon,

I didn't write down my mailing address on my postcards, just my email address and my Apug name. I'm assuming that Ilford will contact me through my email.
Has anyone else heard from Ilford?
I know they are very busy with Photokina so I will not worry if it takes some time to contact me.

Aggie,

Are there any copies of the first issue of Emulsion still available?

I'm thinking I would like to subscribe?

Best Regards,
Kate

Where, exactly?

Sean, I must be dense. I've looked around and cannot find the photos. Can you provide a URL or other more specific location for the photos? It might be easier to make a gallery for them, but however you do it, could you point us in the right direction? Sanders.

Can we start a gallery (or thread?) where we can post and view all 130 entries?

I only posted what Ilford supplied me. I'm not sure they will go through the trouble of scanning and supplying each image to us..

Thanks for the scans, Sean, it's good to see them! Congrats especially to winners.

Bit of a shame mine is cropped (it was square!) - looses sky, (specially the dark sky) and foreground, changes the composition IMO...
I'm not sure if it's going in Emulsion or not (is it just the first ones?) but interested to know if it'll be the uncropped version.

I understand that you (or Ilford) wanted some unity but seems a shame..
Hope I'm not sounding ungrateful!- just feel compelled to point out it's not quite as I sent it, or meant it

Congrats to everyone who took part, to all the winners, and especially to first-place winner Luis Miguel, who is a real artisan when it comes to printmaking.

I have been following him for some time now, and you can, too, at his very interesting blog:

Thanks for posting the scans! I finally get to see which images won.
Very interesting. I didn't expect them to pick the one of mine that they chose. It's always fascinating what people like.

Jon,

Your images are really beautiful! They also look like they printed very well, too.
Thanks for posting!

Jon's photos seems to have disappeared for the moment in the upgrade - but maybe it would be an idea to have a special thread or gallery for people to post their entries to if they want to, - if it's practical? It would be good to see some more....

Postcard Winners : Note From ILFORD Photo

Dear Winners,

Joint third and highly commendeds, just to try and sort it out before I go to PHOTOKINA please can you let me know your choice of film ( either 120 or 35mm ) so as I can get it posted out to you along with your signed certificates :

Please send to my personal e.mail: simon.galley@HARMANtechnology.com

Thanks very much,

I will try and arrange to have all the entries scanned and sent to APUG but PHOTOKINA will have to come first I am afraid

Regards

Simon.

Congrats especially to winners.
I wanted to edit this but couldn't because edit function seems to have disappeared for posts pre the upgrade.
People using 'winners' to mean different things - I meant the first, second and thirds. Sound a bit like I'm congratulating myself which i wasn't
But well done everyone anyway, all participants too.

Hello Cate,

From Request for entries:

"* FORMAT & SUBJECT : Whilst the subject is entirely your choice it may be worth noting our box front images always appear in the square format, you may supply a square image on the 10 x 15 cm paper if you so wish, if any winning image contains recognizable human forms model release forms would need to be forwarded before the image could be considered for publication."

It seems funny that they have cropped your square image to fit the 10 x 15 cm size. The logical thing would be to scan the pictures as they are in 10 x 15.

And also, if they are going to use any of the winning pictures, they will be cropped to square.

Cheers

Thanks, goros.

I understand from Simon that the crop was not completely intentional, and Aggie has kindly arranged so I can get the full version to Emulsion, so no probs!
