Last year there was some miscommunication about 2.25x3.25" film, and I received a refund from The View Camera Store, and I mentioned it to Simon Galley at PhotoPlus Expo, and he said he'd sort it out on the next round, and indeed it was sorted. So anyone who has had that problem should get in touch with Simon.

I should mention that I've also had this kind of problem with a special order of Tri-X 11x14" through Freestyle as well, so I figure it's just the sort of thing that happens occasionally, and it's not endemic to any particular manufacturer or retailer.

I know of one individual who received his U-ULF flim right on time. Perhaps it was the distributor and not Ilford.

This is also a good possibility. I recently tried to order some Fuji 160NC, here in Japan. The local shop said it was discontinued and there wasn't anymore. One quick call to Fuji and another shop confirmed that is had not been discontinued at all. And I got my film.

I received my Ilford order but I have heard from a number of ULF shooters that ordered ULF sheet film and were told by their distributors that their sheet film was not received and they were getting a refund. I find this absolutely unacceptable.

In a market where film sales are challenged one would think that Simon at Ilford would perform some customer service and contact these people so that the issues of non-performance could be favorably resolved.

We can do better than this.....

You have no basis for your claim other than a conjecture that defies the facts and is based upon hearsay. I think this is a blatantly irresponsible post.

Gary, the Ilford ULF film was offered only through a small group of resellers who agreed to participate and thus should have been aware of what was available and what wasn't - and that has been my experience working with several of them over the years. As David pointed out, in the past there have been some miscommunications associated with last minute decisions by Harman about whether or not to include particular emulsions in particular sizes in the offer in response to late-arriving requests.

Anyway, it's impossible to know what, if anything, to make of this without more details. Were the orders placed with participating resellers? Was there any effort to contact either Wynit (the US distributor) or Harman directly to find out what was going on?

Oren,

I know. I wasnt the original poster, I just replied to it. However, but you are exactly correct. Until either Ilford or Wynit replies we really don't know.
