Apparently one cannot order more than one box of paper per week or month at BH anymore (Ilford Multigrade Classic 11x14 250 sheets).

I received this message when trying to order multiple boxes: "Please note: You have exceeded the limit for ILMGF1114250-Multigrade FB Classic Paper (Glossy, 11 x 14", 250 Sheets). You currently cannot purchase additional quantity. The item has been removed from you cart". Does anyone else have this problem?

The next day I tried to order paper again, but same thing - exceeded my quota. The Customer service rep couldn't help. I ended up creating multiple accounts to be able to get the amount of paper I need, kind of a drag. The worst thing is that I can't request same paper emulsions to keep consistency with a large print run.

I'd change your supplier. Now that Ilford has a new USA distributor, hopefully the supply situation is back in balance.

B & H is often out of stock with a lot of Ilford products. I tried to order DD-X recently and it came up empty. Same thing with rapid fixer a month or so ago, again out of stock.

Update. I spoke to the service manager and they do have a one box policy for that specific box of paper. So strange. So I created multiple accounts to bypass the "rationing". Just think if you were only allowed to by 5 rolls of film at a time.....that would be a problem!

Maybe they have had issues with some kind of fraud or re-selling of smaller lots. You save like $100 on such a big box.

It isn't just B&H. I also shop at Adorama they were short on many items from Tiffen, to Kodak, to Ilford.

Though out of stock until early April, Adorama allowed me to add 2 to my cart, and the price per box is less than B&H.

Freestyle also has it listed at the same price as Adorama, in case they are closer to you.

i think its a site bug. i always call or visit the store and never have problems with big orders. i want to speak to a person when ordering and ask questions. i do miss the candy they have in the store.

OMG The demand for Analoque Materials has hit a critical high... Its a turn around I say , a turn around..

Doesn't sound like a site bug based on post 5

i just bought 4 boxes of mgiv, 10 pro pks of tmax film n other stuff last week and had no problem because i did my order over the phone. so if you are limited when ordering on the site, it must be a site problem.

call them n place your order?

.

The quantity limit may be in place because of the recent disruption in distribution, and may reflect the fact that most users of a 250 sheet box are commercial users.
Essentially a desire to have at least some product available for as many of their customers as they can, until product availability is stabilized again.

Words like quota, "limit", are actually terms connected to a practice the we delt with from 1941/1945 in this and other countries and was known as rationing. It was an attempt to share scarse items with as many people as possible. It made no one happy and we were pleased when it ended. When people do this with photographic supplies, it makes me think that they are not keeping enough in inventory and would make me look for another supplier or maybe even change papers if everyone rations it. You and I are the "end users", the people that all photographic equipment and supplies are made for and these artificial shortages are uncalled for............Regards!

I agree with Matt . Ilford has a new distribution partner in the US , hopefully Ilford is selling so much paper and film that they can't keep up. I suspect it's likely a matter of re-filling the pipeline. Ilford , and B&H has always given me good service.

I would not use 250 sheets in a week so it would not be a problem for me.

Remember Russia in the '80's.Blokes were lining up through the night to fight for a loaf of bread in the morning. You have been warned.

It recently took me about three weeks to receive an order of DD-X from B&H.

so the problem is for commercial orders, not the retail orders?

have you tried other distributors n suppliers?
