Differential expansion/contraction between front and back is always a possibility when the two surfaces absorb or give up atmospheric moisture differently over time. I've had worse curl with MGWT than with Classic or Cooltone. It can also be a factor of the age of the paper. In a few cases, even the weight of the easel blades wouldn't overcome it, and I had to temporarily tape down the blades themselves with masking tape. Vacuum easels are an option; but they don't work if the edge curl defeats the vacuum draw itself by allowing perimeter air in.
What amazes me is just how flat current Fuji color paper lies, even when it's cut from a big tightly-wound roll. It's not fiber-based, but still, how have they accomplished that? I rarely even need a vac easel anymore.
