Delta 400 only. Interesting.

Hay !!! There is another ILford Photo contest, wow just woke up and turned on computer and bingo!!!

Alas, I don't shoot much Ilford film, but do use their paper. The closing date is far enough away that even Rip van Winkle would have time to enter, let alone North Americans.

Might be worth shooting a roll.

A pity Ilford doesn't offer Delta 400 in 8x10. Oh, well...

Waking up now.

...

I shoot Kodak and some Fuji.

...

Back to sleep

I really shouldn't have sent that roll off to the DR5 guys....gotta figure out how to make the print now.

Makes me wonder if they are up to "something new" with Delta 400.

*YAWN* cough,cough,(grumble)cough....Did someone say something?....

I was thinking the same thing. I use all Ilford sheet films but for my Rolleiflex I'm using TMY-2 for several reasons. I would prefer to use Ilford products and would be excited by a reformulation with improved reciprocity characteristics. Of course this is probably getting way ahead of things....

The entry form asks if this is your first roll of delta 400...and as a follow up if you will use it again. Maybe they are going to do this with all their films to see which ones stay and which go? Or to help them make better marketing decisions?

Promotions like this are relatively cheap from Ilford point of view, remember there's no importer or retailer mark up on the films, they take their cut on the paper only..

Ilford have been doing promotions like this for many years. Sometimes it was free rolls of film on a magazine, in France it was free superb genuine Robert Doisneau prints on Multigrade paper.

It is all about raising brand awareness, Ilford have the lions share of the B&W paper market but in the US Kodak is king when it comes to B&W film.

The bottom line is if you want paper they also need to sell film.

You guys crack me up. So much complaining and negativity. Would you prefer they just not hold a photo competition at all? Or are you just so inundated with analog manufacturers holding competitions that you can't fit this one into your busy shooting schedule?

I mean is it really a big deal it's roll-film and RC paper? Surely you can find a use for it. Know how to use Craigslist or eBay then?

Regardless, want a chance at your photo on a box?
