This is not a film price increase rant. I'm aware of the supply chain issues, raw material problems, supply-demand, the lot.

Still, products like C200 and all Fuji slide films are already ridiculously overpriced for what they are, and now, the rumormill states a 20-60% increase, again? I mean, if Fuji wishes to focus on the pharma stuff and Instax, that's fine, just have the guts to do so.

To suggest Fuji lacks "guts" because they choose to continue making film for us to purchase is ludicrous. Making film is laborious, technically challenging, and expensive. Shooting it is too.

When a company gives you advance waring of a price increase, they have done you a favor. They have provided you with the opportunity to stock up on your needs before the increase. Saving you money.

Okay, the Duck thing did crack me up, so thanks. Yes, I guess it's sort of a rant. And yes, indeed, I won't be spending my money at Fuji, and that's perfectly fine.

There were times when in some societies film retail prices were prescribed by the state. Most Apuggers seemingly strongly reject such societies.

Today film manufacturers are free to set their prices as they like, as are retailers (well, within some legal restrictions).
What we can is protest, but Fuji has never cared for good consumer relations, to my experience. And here at Apug they never showed up.

What we can do, as indicated is to decide at the cashier. But a thread saying iti is not what it is, is not helpful.

I have remembered now. We old-stagers( that's you and me and others who shall be nameless ) often refer to it as GOLD - Good Old Days where some knew better than others what was what and made sure that we were informed of the aforementioned.

Otherwise, glad to see photo paper and chemicals are only going up by a modera..., well not by 60%.

P.S. I understand the rant, I stopped buying 8x10 Tri-X long ago for the same reason.

My local shop just got a new batch of Fuji 200, not C200, their minilab reads it as Kodak 200 Gold. We may be seeing the end of Fuji roll films. Like Kodak Fuji has a huge plant, without movie film to balance still film runs, Fuji may not be able to compete? On the bright side that also may mean that Kodak will have enough business to expand production.
