Hello APUG members!
I have lurked around APUG for about six months now, and thought now might be a good time to introduce myself. I live in Denver, CO and photography is a wonderfully challenging hobby for me. Oh, and an expensive hobby, too! It is the perfect outlet for me to release all my work-related stress from my "normal" job. I just love picking up my proofs at the lab after a long days work.
I have loved photographs ever since I can remember. My father always loved them too. Growing up we had Ansel Adams prints (reproductions, not real ones!) hanging on our walls. They were beautiful black and white images. Actually, it was my father who bought me my first *real* 35 mm camera 8.5 years ago when my daughter was born. He thought I ought to have it to chronicle her life. And so I have. But it wasn't until a little over a year ago, when I met Cheryl Jacobs for a photo shoot of my children, that I really fell in love. She's been wonderful at helping me to understand what that camera can really do. You see, I always thought you needed a big fancy camera to take great pictures. I've spent the last year learning the ins and outs of my camera, added to my collection by a few, gotten my feet wet with MF with a used Hassey 500cm, and even played a bit with a Holga. I still have so much to learn.
I look forward to diving into APUG and learning from everyone. I love the breadth of this site. Let me apologize in advance for any basic newbie questions that I may ask.
