Ironically the paper is on 'back order'! I wonder where you collected it from BUT the chemicals to make 40 gallons of bleach/fix arrived.

Cheers Dave

Ordered online and opted for "collect in store". If they are sending out cartons of two, then it comes as no suprise that it is on back order.

I wonder how much dev & blix is needed for 75½m² of paper...

Dave, you asked for an opinion on this paper - Posting my comments here as it may be of interest to others.

It is at the budget end of Kodak's range and that shows in the thickness of the paper. Measured 0.20mm thick compared to 0.24mm for Endura of Fuji Crystal (Ilford MGIV portfolio is 0.30mm by comparison). Being on a heavy roll, it is a bit of a pain to cut in to usable sheets - A custom made papersafe would be an advantage, looks like I'll be hacking up some ½" MDF tomorrow.

To my (untrained) eye, colour rendition is acceptable and I would be reasonably happy to show the prints once mounted. At £10 per roll, I'm quite happy to use this stuff for much of my colour printing.

Glad the paper isn't fogged!..........Just having pushed a few buttons on my calculator. If you got two 186M rolls for a tenner that is...
2x186=372M or 37200 cm's / 25 (10") that will give you 1488 10x8 prints at 0.672p per print...not bad ah?
Cheers Dave

However, its not a good sign - it sends out the message that they are either dumping old product lines or have lost the plot completely - niether is a good scenario for the long term health of Jessops

Martin

Delta 100 is £6.50 a roll so they have definitely lost the plot, I feel sorry for any old boy who goes into Jessops and thinks that's really what it costs he'll probably buy a digi cam even if he doesn't want one, also notice on the 7Dayshop site it says the RRP is £5.69, so Jessops want more than the maximum Ilford think a retailer can got for it, I'm surprised Ilford don't get onto them about it.

Wrong size and speed for me, but might be of interest to someone else - Neopan 1600 35mm 36 Exposure at 47p a roll.
It says collect at store only and the nearest to have it is 35 miles away oh well unless they have 20 rolls it would not be worth the 70m round trip!

Anyway I searched the site for deals and I found some really cheap filters, simply go to filters and arrange by lowest prices.

My order status says the paper is back-order

I won't be holding my breath - it might take a "while" - a "while" as in Capt Evans "I'm just stepping outside, I might be a while"

We may all end up disappointed

Martin

I had an email yesterday about the remaining back-ordered box. Apparently the manufacturer has discontinued the product and therefore my order has been cancelled.

I find it hard to believe that Harman have discontinued MGIV FB, but I guess they may want more than £13 for a box of 50 16"x20" to supply Jessops!

Ian, thats very interesting

I had almost the same conversation by phone - according to Jessops, Ilford have discontinued 20x24 MGFB Matt :surprised:

So alas, there will be no 4th box of 20x24

Even so, I still think we have come out of the whole deal way ahead - they sold us some 2 to 3 year old paper for very silly money

Sadly I cannot get the boxes of 20x24 into my deep freeze but the Galerie is safely frozen for another day

Ask Ilford if it's true, and if it's not challenge them with it, and ask them why they feel the need to say something is D/C when they have just stopped selling it.

They told me this about many Ilford products when I went into Jessops in Lincoln the other day...Its all still on the ilford direct sales website though. I think when they say 'discontinued', they mean they dont stock it any more...

When Jessops did the clear out of Neopan 1600 they told a friend that it was 'discontinued' and then they tried to persuade him to buy a DSLR.

Ilford ... Oh and HI

Hi all im new to the site but thought I would contribute to the thread by showing the deal below as shown on the Harman Express website (ilford shopping site). Each roll is £1.75 (120 only) and there is free postage as well this weekend.

Currently we have ILFORD DELTA PROFESSIONAL 400 120 Roll Film. The labels correctly quote 'unexposed', but do not give any indication as to the film product (DELTA 400). ie they are blank at both ends - aside the 'unexposed' text. Other than this they are packaged the same as all DELTA 400 film.

Worth a look : http://www.harmanexpress.com/prods/14/Special-Offers.htm

Fujilab sells stuff at silly prices. In 120 size: 10 rolls of RVP50, 10 rolls of Acros, 10 rolls of Neopan 400 totals 78,80€ with shipping to Finland. Same order from a German site (Nordfoto) would be 103,30€ WITHOUT shipping. In Finland's cheapest online shop the same set goes for 136€ with shipping. I don't even want to imagine what a local shop asks from it...

Quality processing is 6€/roll here. I'm really considering starting to process film myself, since after the initial investment to a Jobo rotatory processor the cost for roll would be around 1€/roll.

And who said film is expensive? Film isn't, processing is

Looking at the Calumet website it would seem like I didn't make a big enough order, I ordered 5 rolls of Tmax and some Xtol to collect in store, but I also popped in later on to get some tri-x and some Superia 100 (or Fujicolor 100 as it's now called?) Anyway it would seem that the stuff that is really cheap is the Kodak and Fuji B&W film and Fujicolor 100 and Superia 200. Ilford's films are about what I would expect to pay on the high street about what Jessops charge before some prat decided to double the prices. Other prices are sky high, like beyond even Jessops, Pan F £7 anybody?
Although some Ilford stuff is really cheap and one thing that made almost me laugh is the 3200 films, 7dayshop they are about the same price or they would be if Tmax 3200 wasn't on offer. On the Calumet site D3200 is £8.50 while T3200 is £3!

I think some stuff on Calumet may not be 'live' stock. They always suggest calling to see if it's really in stock. I saw they had some Portra Endura paper, but I didn't think they really had it.
