For a documentary project described in another thread, I am looking for a movie camera to capture street scenes etc. Warm colours, a bit grainy, for hand-held, "Dogma"-style mockumentary clips.

I know that my Leica X113 can record movies, and that all modern smartphones can do that, too. But I want a device that wakes up the inner Werner Herzog in me.

What I am looking for is the equivalent of a Hasselblad 500C with a digital back. Something special, with ancient lenses but connected to modern tech. And it should have the handling of a Bolex etc.

Any ideas? I have read about the new KodakSuper 8 ans the impossible-to-find Digital Bolex, but maybe there are alternatives.

You might also try asking this question on cinematography.com where these questions will probably get more traction...

Not saying someone here might not have good suggestions, just there's a bigger population on that site concerned with concepts you want to explore.
