I need your help again- Massive dev chart has two dev times for tri-x 320 hc110 B

Once again, I ask you for your opinions- the massive dev chart lists Tri-x 320 two separate development times for HC110 dilution B- 4.75 minutes and 5.5 minutes.
Which one should I follow?

In the massive you always have to check the Notes, one of the times is for the "previous version" of this film, if you had ancient TPX preserved in the freezer then that time could be used

I did- just didn't find anything useful.

I guess the data taken from a previous version statement should have been an indicator there was a difference- but I didn't know until I made this thread.

Yeah, it often happens to me... datasheets and the like have to be read with a loupe... personally sometimes I have to read ten times a datasheet to find what matters!!!

As we are speaking about powerful TXP, let me say a recipe some gurus are using... for portraiture rate it EI 80, and underdevelop it a bit... N-1 aprox...

I recall that the current recommended HC-110 and TX/ TXP times track more closely with Dilution A, rather than the Dilution B that is stated. Double them and you will be within a few percent of Dilution B times in most cases. Cross-reference to Ilfotech HC (which is functionally very close) suggests this correlation as well.

As it is, I used Rodinal at 1+25 on some late 90's expired TXP 220 rolls & it delivered decently printable negs, all things considered.

TXP's softer toe & upsweep on the curve is somewhat unusual for the unwitting & thus results in people making rather atypical EI and process time decisions - mainly because if you give it enough exposure to get it completely on the straight line portion of the curve, you'll end up with a higher average contrast than you might expect, thus leading people to quite sharply cut back development.
