Nope. But I do have a few MD lenses  Most of what I have is SRT era

I was looking at my 201 after reading about it again on Rokkorfiles and it does not have a split image spot focusing screen. Otherwise the changes from the 101 are as described there. I haven't checked, but do the 201 has interchangeable focusing screens or do I have some sort of transitional model?

Just like with the SRT101, and SRT102, there were different versions of the SRT201 -- and one of the differences was the split-image screen.

For better information about Minolta's manual-focus cameras (all of them), you should check out MINMAN -- where much of the information on the Rokkorfiles was "taken" from:

I was so oblivious to all these variations when I owned Minolta SLRs.

I don’t know, but as said there is a trillion variations. It’s also possible that a modification has been made.

Many people detest the split spot. It’s mainly good for lenses in the normal territory. For wides and tele it’s hard or impossible to use.
They also find it distracting when composing.

I can take it or leave it, but admit that I prefer just a microprism spot. It doesn’t rely on you seeking out clean horizontal contrast lines.

That's where your great advise comes in:

Buy one of each and then rotate through them every time you start a new roll of film. That keeps the wear even.

Start on January 1 and take a shot with the first version of the SRT101, and move on to the next SRT version on January 2. If you are lucky, you might get through all of the SRT variations by the end of the year.

It's not a modification. The first & second versions of the SRT201 didn't have it. It's that simple.

One thing that annoys me on my SRT’s is the tip of the film advance lever pokes me in the forehead. I could shoot with my right eye but that doesn’t come naturally. I wouldn’t mind an aftermarket lever that was tucked in a bit batter.

Just tried it. Has it occurred to you to place you thumb between you forehead and the camera?
Much better and the distance seems perfect for still being able to se all of the screen.

Unfortunately, that’s not intuitive at all. The lever just needs a redesign. I have a buddy who’s a master fabricator that may be able to help. He can make anything. Or I can shoot right-eyed with the SRT’s.

I bought my SRT-100 and 201 in the early 1970s and there are still my go to cameras when I shoot 35mm. They are not fancy but they are dependable and I've hauled them all over the world.

From 1966 to 2004 I only used my right eye with Minolta SLRs.

Things have a tendency to become “intuitive” when you are experience discomfort. My thumb rests close to there naturally when I hold the camera.
What’s more, this is not exclusive to SRTs. Is something that can be use with a lot of other cameras.

My thumb doesn't rest there naturally. Our hands are probably different. Regardless, I'm going to fit the camera to me, rather than fit me to the camera.

The SRT's are the only cameras I have with this issue and it's really just a nit. It'll be fun to try a redesign of the lever or maybe just the tip. I can easily make a new tip out of some mold materials I have. Anyone have an advance lever without a tip they can send me?

I haven't heard back from the seller of the 102. He might not have it in the shop, yet. I'm eager to see what he gets in and how much he's going to charge me for it.
