I was looking at my 201 after reading about it again on Rokkorfiles and it does not have a split image spot focusing screen. Otherwise the changes from the 101 are as described there. I haven't checked, but do the 201 has interchangeable focusing screens or do I have some sort of transitional model?
Buy one of each and then rotate through them every time you start a new roll of film. That keeps the wear even.
I don’t know, but as said there is a trillion variations. It’s also possible that a modification has been made.
It's not a modification. The first version didn't have it. It's that simple.
One thing that annoys me on my SRT’s is the tip of the film advance lever pokes me in the forehead. I could shoot with my right eye but that doesn’t come naturally. I wouldn’t mind an aftermarket lever that was tucked in a bit batter.
Just tried it. Has it occurred to you to place you thumb between you forehead and the camera?
Much better and the distance seems perfect for still being able to se all of the screen.
Unfortunately, that’s not intuitive at all. The lever just needs a redesign. I have a buddy who’s a master fabricator that may be able to help. He can make anything. Or I can shoot right-eyed with the SRT’s.

Things have a tendency to become “intuitive” when you are experience discomfort. My thumb rests close to there naturally when I hold the camera.
What’s more, this is not exclusive to SRTs. Is something that can be use with a lot of other cameras.
