The iphone recommendation is valid.. Small sensor means big depth of field.

Take any DSLR, put a 28 or 35mm lens on it, set ISO to 1000 for daylight use, and put it in program (automatic) mode. You'll get big depth of field and fast blur free shutter speeds.
