I have recently joined photrio? because I needed to ask a question... I prefer to lurk and look at random threads but there came the urgent need to fix a problem... I recently got into film photography when my friend got a Bronica ETRS for free and we shot a few rolls of film. I did not have the luck to get such a nice camera for free, but when I was setting up my darkroom I did get quite a deal for some equipment. (Omega Super Chromega D Dichroic II with what I believe is a D5 base, several enlarging lenses, easel, print washer, grain magnifier, random odds and ends for $400) somewhat overpriced, I only came for the enlarger but walked out with everything else haha. Got a nice Zorki 4 Russian rangefinder, 40 rolls of Fuji C200 film, everything else for my darkroom, and all for under $1000! I have to say I think film photography is much more rewarding than digital photography, it is cheaper (40 rolls will last me forever I went to Canada and only used 6 haha) and more fun with a 50 year old crappy camera with an over tightened shutter and a scratched lens. I have had great experiences with my camera, its built like a brick and there is a very satisfying swoosh when you press the shutter. I gave up on digital after an SD card got corrupted with 500ish amazing pictures.... well sorry for the long ramble I just typed some random stuff... This is a very nice community, better than what we have down here in Houston as far as I know.. Great help. I'm fine down here but I can't use my darkroom right now because we need to conserve water.. I shoot mostly landscapes (In color because I don't have the time to research 40 different developers and like a million different films) Cheap film and cameras give amazing pictures, haven't printed many of them and I don't own a scanner so I can't show them to you guys to critique hah. Is subscribing worth it?
