do you have a huge refridgerator full of film or do you buy one roll at a time? i personally only buy 2-3 rolls each time.

I have a stock of around thirty cassettes of colour film and how ever much is left of my Fomapan 200 bulk roll.
Stored in a cupboard not a fridge. Bestbeloved finds it in the fridge, she is likely to make a point by feeding it to me in a pie.

Five rolls at a time (a so called "Pro-Pack"). And when I can, more than one.

I order 15 to 20 rolls at a time. Since I use Freestyle, It makes it more economical when it comes to shipping. Since film prices always goes up, I protect myself a bit from price increases. I also go on Ebay and buy expired BW film in which I buy only if they're the same batch. BW film keeps very well. I've used Ilford film as old as 20 years past due date.

I tend to buy several dozen rolls at least, or 100 sheets of 4x5....you can never have too much (I have he same approach to beer shopping too:D)...

Great philosophy

A man is never poor when his fridge is full of film and beer.

B&W 35mm, 100ft at a time. All other types 5 rolls at a time. Buying locally, its usually just 5 of one type, but like Mainecoon, when ordering from B&H it will be 2 or 3 types. 100ft each of 100 and 400 iso will last me a year or more.

Usually I'll buy 5-15 rolls at a time form B&H. There's only one place to get Ilford locally, but they're priced way too high(plus gas and sales tax) so B&H is my source these days.

it all depends on how much money you have, how much storage space you have and how much you prescribe to the " gotta be in the fridge " idea.

i don't have much film in a fridge, most of it has been on a shelf in a cool area / basement/studio shelf some ( maybe a few 100 rolls of 35mm, sheets of efke and a few other tid bits )
are in a inefficient 3' high dorm room (type) fridge. most if not all my film has been loose in a bag or on a shelf for 20 years. it has been 4x5 sheets, 120 rolls as well as high( and low) iso roll films
and they have not exhibited very much if any base fog and if exposed 1 or maybe 2 ( or if you are insane more ) stops over exposed and have come out just fine.
to many, a teeny bit of base-fog might a huge difference, but to a few people, it really doesn't matter too much.

buy what you need and just reorder if you need to.
film is sometimes cheap, othertimes expensive

What I need or up to five rolls at a time, unless I find out that a film that I like is being discontinued then I will buy up all I can find or afford. I have a 24 cubic foot refrigerator freezer.

Hmm, depends on what size film I'm buying, what I'm buying, and how much I already have in the freezer.

For 35mm, I tend to buy only about 5 rolls at a time because I don't shoot this size much; expect for the 20 rolls of EFKE 25 I bought from a dealer in Croatia! For roll film, I tend to buy 10 - 20 rolls at a time; 4x5 sheet film usually 100 sheets; 8x10 sheet film 25 sheets (can't afford anymore than that at a time!) I did buy quite a bit of Fuji FP-3000B several months ago and I tend to buy Impossible film for my SX-70 3 packs at a time. All film, except the instant stuff, goes into the freezer; instant goes in the fridge.

Best regards,
AlanH

small batches of assorted varieties.

Usually 5 or 10 at a time, especially when I'm working on filling out an order from one of the mail order favorites.
I've accumulated enough in my film fridge that I don't need to buy much for now.

Since film must be purchased via mail order I buy enough to get free shipping from B&H , $50 or more. Only B&W now so it keeps nice in the fridge. Really I'm not a big film user, perhaps 5 rolls of 120 and 25 rolls of 35mm a year. I go on a binge and shoot several rolls then it's quiet for a few months. I also shoot photo paper in 4X5 holders and that is cheap fun. I slit down 35mm Pan F from bulk to reaload Minox cassettes ( 24 exposure rolls) and that works out to about 41 cents a roll or 50 cents a roll if I were to use Delta 100.

I have a dedicated freezer since I bulk load usually from short-ends.

I buy using the replacement plus method. As an example, just finished a roll of T-Max 100 in my bulk loader and put a new one in. So I went to B&H Photo and bought two 100' bulk rolls of T-MAX 100. They just arrived this afternoon. I try to double up but this isn't always possible.

This does not count opportunity buys. I have a lot of 120 and 220 roll film that was purchased on forum classifieds or ebay for steep discounts. In this case I generally buy what I can afford.

I used to keep a lot in my freezer but anymore I just store it in a cool location where the temperature is consistent. I basically ran out of freezer space so I had to adopt another method.

Like has already been hinted at, film and beer store pretty well so I just keep them together. I think this is known as the hyper additive effect.

Of course I may wrong about that. :D

I stock 135, 120 and 4"x5" film.

I usually buy bulk when funds allow. Last time I bought film, it was 200 rolls of 120 Shanghai GP3.

Largest buy of readymade films so far was about 400 rolls 135-36.

2-3 Pro-Packs (10-15 rolls of 120) usually.

If I'm locally (in Japan) then it's about 2-3 pro-packs at a time. I don't go to the camera store often, but when I do, I try to pick up some film every time. If I'm ordering from overseas (usually Freestyle) then I order between 30-60 rolls (120).

I do have a dedicated fridge/freezer for film and paper. I took stock right before I left for my European vacation and discovered I had about 300 rolls of film - half of which I brought with me on this trip.
