Considering that Fujifilm is about to launch the largest price increase in its history on its remaining film, I'm preparing for a mega order (500+ rolls).

Good move. Also that will keep it from the film hoarders.

10% in 2014, 20% in 2013. The 2015 increase is in line with the 2013 increase. It sucks, because I love slide film, but if I want to keep shooting it, I gotta pay the price.

the Fuji films are already super expensive. 10 dollars a roll isnt cheap and with a 20 percent increase, thatll bring it to 12-13 bux a roll. Well, at least Agfa still offers an E6 film which isnt getting a price increase.

Sad to hear that prices of Fuji Films are about to get raised...
How much film do I buy? I just bought 10 rolls of my beloved HP5+ - not that I take so many photos, but in the near future I will need some test rolls, to get into the groove with my first DIY developer. But: To me it just feels good to open up the fridge and see...well.
Also 2 rolls of APX400, of which I gave one to a friend, to encourage her to not forget about the analog ways. For a beginner like I am, stickin' to one type of film seems more than reasonable.
All the Best,
Brian

We must pull through this ladies and gentlemen, for the fate of film depends on US! I will omit at least one vice that I don't need especially those evil sodas! I vow to shoot twice as much although that would be basically 2 rolls total every 3 months sadly! I will also use more caffenol regardless of its possible outcome I wouldn't be able to bare! LONG LIVE #FILM LONG LIVE PHOTOGRAPHERS LONG LIVE THE ARTS that mankind cannot blow up with there destructive creations!!!

What! Largest price increase?! When's it taking effect? On all films?

So far it is only announced for the Japanese market. Maybe the former price increase we've seen in other markets is now done later in the home market.
At least Fujifilm Europe told me that they so far don't have a statement from Fuji headquarter that there will be a price increase in Europe.

Kodak has recently raised prices in Japan up to 50-100% with some products.
Some Japanese distributors have raised prices for Ilford as well (perhaps because of the strong pound).
The Japanese market has always been quite different compared to other markets. Sometimes in a positive way, sometimes in a negative way.

We will see.

Best regards,
Henning
