I prefer to keep my cameras empty of film until use, especially medium format.

same here.
12 6x6 frames isn't much and i typically shot whole rolls by session/theme/place, so there are never frames remaining.
Exception sometimes with 220 rolls, in which case I put a big sticker on the camera/back and try to finish asap.
I am so used to MF, that I can't shot a whole 35mm roll (36 exposures) in one session, so when I am done with what I wanted I cut. Typically I shot 12 to 18 exposures, cut the roll and develop. Put a sticker on the cartridge with the amount of remaining exposures.
That's also why my favorite 35 SLR is the KMZ Start: I use receiving cartridge and the camera has a knife, so I can cut, swap films, without darkbag, when I am on the go:

of course one can cut with small scissors, remove the film from the receiving spool and put it in a black cartridge, with any 35mm SLR, but it requires darkbag and some more time.

with Barnack bottom loaders, I use home loaded cartridges of max 18 exposures.

I have the following cameras with film of various brands and types (color negative or B&W)

Argus Markfinder 21
Minolta X-700
Pentax K1000
Pentax MX
Pentax ZX-M
Petri Color Corrected 2.8
Yashica Electro 35 GSN (2)
Yashica Mat
Yashica D
Mamiya 6V

Obviously, I need to get out more .....

I can't afford to collect those cameras that go for three or four figures, so I've gotten a bunch of the common, everyday, consumer cameras in my cabinet.

Interesting. Like the Exaktas.

Just added one to my (too many) roster of cameras with film loaded: Nikkormat FT2. Paid shipping for a box of "Nikkormat junk" and yes indeed, received a number of loose parts -- and three working bodies, a pair of FTn (one chrome, one black, the latter with reluctant self-timer), and the FT2. Looking forward to getting some rabbit-ear lenses so I can use full-aperture metering (and yes, I've already verified the meter, at least in the FT2, works). I can use the lenses from my/partner's D70 and D90, but only with stop-down metering -- but they're longish (70-200 is the one I could find) and slowish (f/4.5-5.6?). Looks like I can pick up a rabbit ear "nifty fifty" f/1.4 for under $40, and a 35-135 f/3.5 for little if any more.

Meanwhile, I stuck a roll of Superia X-Tra 400 in there to check for light leaks...

So- I know a lot of you have lots of cameras- how many have film ready to go?
I have 8 bodies I use often and have 4 loaded right now... should probably finish them off- some have been in the camera for nearly a year

-Minolta X300 / Fuji 200 Color

F3P loaded with a recently thawed roll of E100G; F2AS (Soverized) loaded (like wise) with a roll of E100VS. PB 01/14 stash of both emulsions now down to: 1) 5 rolls of 35mm E100VS; and 2) 3 rolls of E100G. Cannot believe that my "stash" began in 2012 with almost 700 rolls of the two emulsions. Had COVID not visited us in 2020, my switch-over to E100 would most likely have been done early last spring. "120-wise," I have two A12s loaded with E100G; down to four propacks and three loose rolls. I expect that this run, too, will be finished early fall (120 black and white seems be favored at the moment).

18 cameras and too many to list. I shoot 35mm and 120mm. I don’t keep film loaded in any camera, as I never know which one I’ll grab.

Every camera I own is loaded with film!

I only have one camera.

Good grief, five years later and we are still at it. This has turned into a true epiphany...

I did a fast check in my camera cupboard.

Two Nikon F65s have B&W films in them, probably TMax 100. One may be from 2017 when I last used it in Madura, Indonesia. The other I have forgotten.

Two of my four Contax G1s also have films in them. Not sure which film(s). A few exposures left on each. I can go by the ISO speeds I set on the cameras when I loaded them.

Ditto one of my two Nikkormat FT2s. Probably also B&W. Memory fails me with this one. Likely two or three years old.

One Rollei (my 'cord Vb) has a roll in it. Probably Ilford HP5. At exposure 7.

I intend to finish them all next week and process. More garden shots, a cat or two, a walk to the paddocks behind our town to see how the feral cacti are doing in this early winter we are having. It is 16 degrees today and blowing a gale. Climate change, blah!

Then I have to mix up a batch of developer. Ditto stop bath and fixer. And dig out a tank. Dust it off and clean it. More work.

Best of luck to me!

Technically, none. But I've got a roll of 400H in one of my Bronica SQ-A backs, a stack of Ilford FP4+ in my grafmatic 23, and a roll of Ektar 100 in the 6x9 roll film holder, both for the Mini Speed Graphic.

I'm culling the herd at the moment and am film testing after cleaning, seal replacement etc. First up is a Spotmatic with expired TMY and then a Fujica ST605 with expired Foma 200. Just checking for light leaks and consistent exposures over a range of shutter speed / aperture combinations and then they're off to Gumtree / FB Marketplace.

First time I've used these cameras side by side. While the Spotmatic has better build quality the Fujica is a nicer daily user due to:
a) Silicon cell metering which is faster and more sensitive that the CDS in the Spotmatic.
b) Split image focusing aid in the Fujica.
c) The Fujica uses 1.5V batteries which are readily available. The S400PX battery for the Spotmatic are thin on the ground in Aus. Why couldn't Pentax have used a more common battery, physical size wise.
d) The button on the Fujica to stop down / activate metering is quicker to use than the sliding switch on the Spotmatic.

Next cabs off the rank will be a Canon AE-1 and a cosmetically challenged Canon EF, (I'm keeping my CLA'd mint EF).

Two:

F2a with HP5+
FE with HP5+

My MF stuff is empty right now, Super Ricohflex needs a focus adjustment before I burn anymore film and the Coronet 12-Twenty is so bad it's only worth burning expired film with.
