I prefer to keep my cameras empty of film until use, especially medium format.

Good advice.

Funny how we are so adept at recognizing good advice and so adverse to following it.

I have a cabinet full of cameras on frame 3, frame 11, frame 5 ....

I've got three right now. A Brownie Target Six-16 70mm Portra 160 which I've yet to have good enough weather to shoot. EOS Elan II with some Gold 200 and new to me yesterday a Polaroid MiniPortrait 403 which came loaded with FP100 which is only slightly fogged and still gives usable images!

My question is, what to do with this awesome full functioning camera when the film is gone? I can't get any more of it, I'm not paying $100 for 10 shots. I did cut a sheet of X-ray film and loaded it into an empty FP case but that'll give me exactly two shots. Is there any rollfilm holder compatibility with this camera?

Make that 2. Just finished my last shot of fp100c on the Polaroid MiniPortrait. Don't think I'll ever shoot another frame of this film. Kind of sad.

1 roll of e100 in a f3......but

Just started and finished a roll of 120 hp5 in about 5 mins. 12 different expressions of the baby sitting in a wagon. A roll off 120 is never in the camera for more then a few mins.

MY F6 is currently loaded with some E100G (down to my last 8 rolls of P/B 01/14 - deep frozen at -28C until ready to use), and one of my F2AS bodies currently has a fresh roll of HP5+ in it.

Go shoot film. Reload. Repeat often.

A very rare situation: The only camera I have currently loaded is a Soverized F2AS body, sitting on my desk with a fresh roll of HP5+ ready to go.

Just two. My Olympus point and shoot has a roll of Superia in it.Actually, Ultramax, I just checked. I got both the batteries for it and the Ultramax for Christmas. I've taken to carrying this one with me as much as possible whenever I go out. My first camera was a Maxxum 400si, which I like a lot, but it was really just too big to take places. I'd only take it if I were bringing a backpack with me, and even then it took up a bit too much space a lot of the time. So when I'd go to class, if I had the space in my bag I'd bring it, or I'd bring it when I was going on a day trip or something like that with the idea that I'd for sure be taking some photos. Now with the Olympus, it fits in a pocket, so I've been taking it with me a lot more often and it's been nice so far. Although the other day I didn't bring it somewhere and I missed out on snapping this really beautiful Cadillac Eldorado.

And then I also have a roll of Ultramax 400 in my Contina IIa. I recently got a box of cameras, mostly rangefinders, a couple Continas, some SLRs, and a 6x6 Zeiss Ikonta, which I am really excited about. The only thing is most of them have some sort of minor usability defect or are simply not in working condition, and the Contina was one of the few that had no problems with it. Up until now I haven't been able to use a fully manual camera, so I'm glad I have the chance now. It's a viewfinder and I'm not very confident in my ability to focus well, but since I'm using 400ISO film, I generally have it set to f16 or f22 anyway.

The guide for Ultramax 400 says a shutter speed of 1/500 is what should be used, and based on light change the aperture, but the Contina's fastest shutter is 1/300.

Here's what the guide says:
Bright sun - 1/500 f16
bright sun with shadows or hazy sun - 1/500 f11
weak sun - 1/500 f/8
bright cloudy - 1/500 f5.6
heavy overcast - 1/500 f4

But since I can only go up to a 1/300 speed, I've generally used sunny 22 instead of sunny 16, and I am bracketing my shots typically. I've only taken I think 7 or 8 shots so far but I am taking note of what focus distance I set, shutter speed, aperture, and what I perceive to be the lighting conditions. So when I get these developed, I'll see what works.

I have the Contax iia loaded with ADOX CHS 100 II (couple of shots left). The Mamiya C330f has FP4+ in it (one shot left).

I am down to the couple of shots in the Contax iia. I developed the 120 in the Mamiya C330f. What next? My thoughts (based on current film inventory):

1. ADOX CHS 100 II in the nold (new-old) Fujica 701 to try out the nold CZJ 50mm f2.8 Tessar and the nold Pentax 35mm f3.5 Takumar lenses as well as the Fujica itself.
2. ADOX CHS 100 II in the nold Exakta VX with CZJ 58mm f2 Biotar (I just want to shoot it again).
3. Fomapan 400 in the Mamiya C330f
4. Kodak TMAX P3200 (likely at ISO 3200) in the Contax iia

(I may hold off on one of the four for a while).

Two out of 6 cameras that I regularly use are currently loaded with film:
  • Fuji C200 in my EOS 100
  • Bergger Pancro 400 in my OM-1
I'm very interested in what the Bergger film will produce (never shot it before), but since I only loaded it today and took one single shot on it so far, that may take some time... :whistling:

I kind of like it. It has a unique look to it. I photogrpahed some cows with it and found it ironic that I was shooting cows with Bergger (Burger) film!

Here are some more results in 35mm and a few in 120 if you are interested.

Burger film indeed!
That uniqueness is what made me want to try this film. Thanks for your link, I'll take a look!

I've just pulled 4 x 135 reloaded cassettes from my fridge stock. All are approaching 5 years out of date but I'm not overly concerned at the moment.

I have TMY-2, Foma 200, Rollei Retro 80s and Pan F+. In the absence of Microdol-X (or clones) in Australia I want to try them all in Perceptol. Have to do some research on suggested EI for exposure. I suspect the Retro 80s will be around ISO 25 - 32 as last time I developed it in Adonal it was well underexposed at ISO 80.

Will probably shoot them in Canon FD bodies / lenses - F1-N, T90, EF as these have been most recently serviced and I am confident with their metering accuracy.
