Well, the lens and camera repair, to get it to shoot, was a success in fixing and doing first CLA
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

but alas.. a couple of days ago, I stated to put in a roll of film for a final test, and decided, I better make sure that it would rewind. I'm glad I did! It won't!!
It does not have a button on the bottom of the camera, instead it has a dial on the that you turn from A to R .. but it will not turn all the way to R.
So last night, took the bottom off and had a look.
Nothing blocking it to turn, except the gear itself.
And the gear will not go anywhere. It turns freely in the normal manner.. but it cannot be pushed out of the way, so it's teeth are no longer connected with the other gears, allowing it to rotate in a reverse manner to allow the film to be rewound.

There is no parts manual/breakdown on the web that I could find, so how does the rewind work?

My read.. which must be totally in error, but the only way I can see it to function in rewind, is as the A/R dial on the bottom is rotated, clockwise, (the image shows it at A) it pushes its raised area, against the gear, that turns the film sprocket inside the camera. This pressure, disengages the sprocket gear form the others, as it is raised away from the bottom of the camera. There appears to be enough space for this to happen, before it hits the camera case. Thus allowing the sprocket, inside,to turn freely in reverse, as the film is rewound.
How?
Because, the metal gear shaft, seen form the bottom, is a smaller diameter, than the interior plastic sprocket shaft, and must pushed against a spring inside of it, as it telescopes up inside the plastic sprocket shaft that can be seen from inside the camera.

Trouble is, if this theory is correct.. is that sprocket gear in the bottom isn't moving at all.. just a tad up and down, with the other gear next to it removed. It rotates freely in the film advancing direction, either way with that gear removed, but is prevented from reversing normally, because it is locked by the other gears which it is meshed with.

Any thoughts?? :confused:
The gear that is the sprocket gear is in the last image, is the one, furthest left at ten o'clock

Thanks and Yes .. thank goodness for Buthus.. but that's and owners operating manual.. which I had already downloaded, I was referring to a repair manual, where it shows the breakdown of parts.. and how it goes together..

It sounds like you have the right idea. The cam on the A/R button pushes the sprocket upwards and it should disengage the center gear.
With the bottom cover off can you disengage the sprocket by pushing it towards the body.

I'm assuming the segment missing from the cam slips over the oddly shaped e ring as a limiting device.

But its not budging... how would one disassemble this sprocket?
On the inside the tooth rings.. have one little screw doing something.. holding it place most likely.
