Hi. I just got my first SLR not too long ago, Pentax Me Super. I haven't used film in a while.

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some tips? Maybe a good photography book to look for.

Welcome back to film. Might try out Les Meehan's Creative Exposure or Ansel Adams' The Negative. Tips? Get crackin' and have some fun.

And welcome to APUG.

Hello and welcome to APUG! Try your local library. At least it will save you some money. Film is a lot of fun!

Jeff

Thanks for all the welcomes!

I look forward to having fun with film.

I'll give another vote to the Henry Horenstein book. His books were the standard texts at Maryland Institute College of Art when I was taking classes there back in the film-only days. Also look for the John Schaefer "Ansel Adams Guide: Basic Techniques of Photography" book. Welcome to APUG- this is also a tremendous wealth of information for anything you will want to do photographically. Oh, and the best thing you can do to learn more? Just get out there and SHOOT!

Welcome, from near Washington, DC.

Welcome to APUG - you'll find great help flattening out the learning curve if you snoop around this forum enough, believe me! Local libraries can be a fantastic source of info - particularly if you have some change to use their photocopier

Anyhow best of luck, keep up the practice, and remember - one of the best ways to reinforce your own knowledge is to teach it to others - I helped build darkrooms for friends before I tackled my own - if you choose to do the same their are some great old books out there (I have one of them in my studio - the name isn't coming to mind at the moment but I'll try to track it down.)

ALL THE BEST!

Hello and welcome to APUG from western New England. I have a couple ME Supers and they are fun cameras.
