hi Ann

actually just back tonight from North Queensferry, shooting some Delta 100 on my Mamiya

And yeah at college in West Lothian doing a HNC in Photography as a mature student and looking at going on to Stevenson to do the HND.

A big hello from way down south in summery, sweltering Australia.
The Firth of Forth was my last destination in Scotland in 1989.

Welcome from (a bit of a wintery) down south.

thanks for the welcome folks, really mental here now, lots of nice snow

off to do some shooting now - oh how i love being a full time student

Hi again!
Stevenson was very good - it certainly suited me. They also have an Advanced Diploma that you can do after the HND. It 's not so much of a taught course, more a support-system to make it easier to get established after college. (There are some classes, of course!) The main focus is in building up a more specialised portfolio in the area that interests you. You can also continue to use college equipment, which is no small advantage! I had to move down to England before I could do the ADP myself but I reckon it would have helped me to get set up on my own much faster.
Been out in the snow with a camera this morning, trying to get a few pictures of my three (young) cats investigating their first proper snow. Very funny!:D Not sure my reactions are fast enough, though!
BTW my main camera is a Mamiya 645, and I reckon it's really good!:D

Don't feel bad, ifotou - -28 C here as I type this. That's over a degree colder than the all-UK record set twice in Braemar, Aberdeenshire (my family comes from there and they may have brought the cold with them when they emigrated  ).

The snow was fun

Mamiya 645 is awesome, although i have my eyes on a rolleiflex and a hasselblad 500c also  oh and a shen hao field camera  lol

Welcome from equally wintery Derbyshire!:D

Welcome from Wintery London

london certainly seems to be taking a bit of a beating... amazing how a little snow stops everything in it's tracks though, even in Scotland when a bit of snow is expected we can get caught out, the Canadians etc really show us all how to do it don't they

To be fair it's the worst snow in 18 years so we should expect to get inconvenienced. But I suspect that even if we'd had just 1/2 inch of snow then everything would have fallen apart - it usually does

It's raining again already, that didn't last long...so missed the camera opportunities. Can't take pictures during constant snow showers!

Perhaps some of you Edinbrrrrh folk can share the secret of Chippy sauce
