Hi, i'm a mid 30's bloke from Livingston (around 20 miles from Edinburgh) who, after around 6 or 7 years of being exclusively digital has returened to college and suddenly realised just how good film really was.

as such i'm shooting a lot more 120 roll film and recently started doing some 5x4 work also.

Welcome, from the normally-colder Canadian prairies. Less humid, though.

I love your corner of the world. I hope to get back there sometime.

Terrific, Welcome back to film and welcome to APUG. I've had the chance to be in Edinburgh once and it was absolutely beautiful. What I would do to have had my 4x5 at the time. The architecture is just amazing. Maybe some day I will get back. In the meantime, I see a nice glass of Oban on the rocks in my near future.

Welcome to APUG, enjoy the forum.

Welcome, from near Washington, DC.

Welcome from Germany.
Scotland is one of my favourites!

Welcome to APUG from western New England, where there is still ice on the trees from Wednesday's storm.

I'm originally from just north of you [in between Falkirk and Stirling] - although I live in England at the moment. I know Livingstone fairly well.

Hello!

Welcome from just a couple hours east of papagene and where it is dry, warm and sunny!

Welcome to APUG!!

Welcome, to APUG, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Welcome from the other end of the Kingdom.

Steve.

Welcome from an exiled Scot living in Wigan. Where people race pies and eat whippets. Hang on its the other way round. Hence, whats the definition of a Wigan Shish Kebab? Answer - five pies on a stick.

THanks for the welcome folks, seems a really friends place...

being back at college has been a real eye opener for me and reminded me just how good analogue technology is.

i'm using a variety of kit - 2 x Canon SLR's, a 1958 Kodak Brownie Cresta, a Mamiya 645E and a Cambo 5x4, with the occasional Bronica ETRS and Yashica Mat TLR thrown in for good luck.

Currently looking at buying a 'Blad 500C and a Shen Hau Field Camera

Recently shot some portraits on Provia 100 (5x4) and was blown away with them.

Off this coming weekend to do some stuff at Dunoon and Glencoe mixing MF and LF stuff

can't wait

Would love to visit oslo and canada sometime soon -

Welcome from Bangkok, Thailand.

thanks for the welcome folks

Hi there- and welcome- from another Scot!
I'm sure you'll enjoy being a member of APUG, I've found it really good tho' I haven't been a member long myself.
Until just about 4 years ago I lived in South Queensferry and I do miss the whole Edinburgh area. Still, I do get back to visit occasionally.
I take it that you are studying photography at college? I did an HND in photography (as a 'mature' student at Stevenson College in Edinburgh) and it was one of the best things I ever did.:D:D
Anyway, you should find that APUG is a source of good photo information and cameraderie!
