I've been lurking here awhile when ricus.storms's introduction prompted me to introduce myself.
I am a semi-retired farmer eventually returning to 35mm b&w. A friend, Dawid Loubser, pointed me to Olympus gear and I've found what I need to start with.
Setting up a darkroom has been a real challenge. There is very little to choose from in used equipment.

As a fellow South African, I can relate to your hunt for darkroom equipment, here in SA the pickings are rather slim with darkroom gear. I usually buy on BidorBuy, with some success, but that is not often (Not like all the stuff on Ebay available in the US and Europe, lucky them!)

Paper variety is also an issue, ditto film, ditto chems.

But we seem to be willing and able, and I think there is still ALOT of used darkroom gear around.

Vernon, send a PM of what you still might need, I have some things I can pass on to you if you could use them.

Welcome to APUG

Hello Vernon, a warm welcome to APUG. Setting up a darkroom might be a challenge, but worth in the long run!

Hello Vernon. Where about is your farm? I kinda know SA quite well. Lived in Gtown for 5 years and have been back for field work more or less every year. Maybe our path will cross... By the way, district 9 is a great movie!

Hi Claceman. I farm at the entrance to Tsitsikamma National Park (Storms River Mouth). You have most likely been to this scenic Park, the start of the Garden Route.

Sure I have. Nice place!
I usually go in the Karoo and Southern Kalahari. Maybe one day...

Welcome. Looking forwarding to seeing pictures from your part of the world. All best --Clifton

Hello from the Rocky Mountains. I've been to ZA 6 times. A beautiful country and you are in an especially beautiful part of it. Looking forward to your pictures. Cheers.
