Haven't introduced myself here yet so...

I'm Justin.

Right now, I am a high school senior in Lorton, Virginia.

I began photography when I got one of those old Polaroids as a present for Christmas. However, I was unable to do any more photography until High School where I finally was able to do photography. As time passed, I got into alternative processes such as toning, then split toning, palette kits and Halochrome.

Then, one day, in October 2008, I stumbled upon lith printing. It was a process that no one in my school would touch, not even my teacher and peers in the class above me. I worked with the process and worked with it, making other people believe I was insane trying to get such a difficult process to work. However, I still needed to do more research on the subject to be better at it, and so after reading Tim Rudman's books and Wolfgang Moersch's works, I came here to find out more about lith printing and alternative processes in general.

Lith printing gives an entirely new look to a picture and is so rewarding when you finally get the print to work.

Welcome from Washington DC! There's a bunch of us mostly old fogies here in the area that get together and shoot, and play with various alt processes (cyanotype, platinum/palladium, wet-plate collodion, Azo, among others). Say hi and let us know if you'd be interested in getting together.
