Hi, I am reconnecting with film photography these past few month. I have been working in movie theaters several years but I really like when the image remain still.
I only know 35mm and with a lot of different cameras. My favorite (but now stolen) was the praktika BMS and the 50mm that went with it. So now that I am older, I finally got a medium format camera, a mamiya C220. Not yet tested. It is like new. And a 9x12 field camera.
I also like to DIY. I have modified a lomo lc-a to take half-frame pictures. Still in test. Next step will be to add an electronic shutter speed knob, probably make 120 or 220 rolls thanks to this forum and make dry plates photography.
I love cheap flee market machines to do images and music.

Your DIY project sounds very interesting indeed; I hope you'll post some more about that one day.

And a 9x12 field camera.

Fortunately, 9x12cm film is still obtainable at least here in Europe (I suspect you're from France, correct?)

Yes I am from France. I have found a guy nearby that sold 5 linhof 9x12 dual plate holders for a few € and an aunt gave me a box full of 9x12 from his great grand father (she has 2 more boxes) to digitalize and among all that dusty plates there is also unused plates. So I should be good for a long time.

Hello. I am between Toulouse and les Pyrénées. I have not yet found à way to buy silver nitrate... this is because i am not à professional, but i have some leads. As i am in several projects at the same time, while i figure out how to obtain silver nitrate i am diving into 16mm and double8 and iam also finishing a cutter table i made to cut the 70mm roll i bought. For now its only 120 but maybe more formats soon.

Many sources for this. Check https://www.mamut-photo.com/ or sellers on eBay. It's easy to get silver nitrate - really easy. But it's somewhat costly of course.

Yes. Thanks. As i am not in a big hurry i a searching for cristal silver nitrate. There are french suppliers that sell at almsost 1.1€ per grams but they only sell to pro photographers. I am to participate in a movie festival soon and hope to get some contacts, that is : if the one i already have fails to validate my order.

That's a very reasonable price at this point in Europe for small quantities up to 100g or so.

I am planing to search for the chemicals too. You can find on this forum many receipts and shared experience even for making your own emulsion.
I will post what we can find in my area.
