Hello there! I joined up the other day after recommendation from a fellow Amateur Photographer Forumite, this looks, shall we say, an interesting place to visit

I've been using various cameras for the past year, but originally the first serious camera I owned, which I bought when still a teenager, was a Canon AE-1 with 50mm 1.8. I dont have any of that canon vs nikon stuff in me, lol, as I also use a 50mm 1.8 on my nikon f80. The nikon prolly gets used more due to the extra shutter times and aperture control, and the canon is now sadly showing his age. I have been into cameras and taking pics since a little kid, though.

I also recently got into Large Format. I had originally planned on going up to 6x7, even finding the type of camera I had wanted to use, a Mamiya RZ67 with 90mm. What a loverly camera, sadly everyone else thinks so and the cheaper models soon sold, lol! I didnt really want to consider a smaller format, I already have 35mm for that, so a friend on the AP forums told me about LF. I have to say, I've only had the Cambo SC and the 135mm Schneider for about a week but what little I have learnt has been worthwhile, I think.

Apart from photography there is one other great love in my life: music. I have a recording studio in my bedroom and around 1500 CDs. LOL! You cant get into my room, there is so much gear in there

Welcome from the other side of the world, Hawaii. You are lucky, there is a great group in the UK; I hope to get over there someday to meet some of them.

Welcome from Lancashire. My darkroom space does double duty with a keyboard and PC based home studio. If you're a drummer or bass player we've almost got an APUG band.

Welcome!
I am new to APUG as well. Additionally, I am a guitarist (well, kinda depends on the day and the mood my guitar is in  ).

Best regards.

Welcome,

I grew up just outside Southampton and still have family down that way though I rarely get back there. I still look at the Echo's website from time to time, mainly when I want to be depressed by the current shambles at St. Mary's

Cheers

Mike

Hello again, nice to meet you all!

Well I've barely touched the studio in a year as I've been messing with cameras. I've been intending to enter a few competitions and wanted to make sure I was reasonably good  I can play bass, guitar, percussion, some keys, a little violin (not much)... well you get the jist. Never touched a full-on drum kit though, never had the space.

Yeah they aint too good. I'm not into footie tbh, but I know a lot who are. My uncle has been a season ticket holder since he was a toddler and he's just turned 40. He still acts like one when they lose

Welcome from the Northumberland National Park and another ex guitarist. I'm sure you'll enjoy the friendship and information you'll find in APUG. Good to have another Brit on board too.

Welcome from Canada. I'm a guitarist too. Funny how music and photography seem to go together.
