I have visited this site a few times but spend most of my "forum time" at dyxum.com and Photo.net My attraction to this site is obviously that I am increasingly enjoying film photography and have been somewhat bitten by the film camera acquisition bug, given the crazy cheap prices.

I just finished putting together a simple website about my film cameras. If interested please take a look here: http://chemicalcameras.wordpress.com/
I also display a lot of my photos online at the following gallery: My pBase gallery

Over the past year or so I have been scanning and processing a huge collection of my father's photos. They are mostly in 6x6 format, B&W negatives. It has been a fascinating journey of discoveries for me and I have posted most of what I've completed on my pBase account. I still have a big box of color slides but at least I'm done with the black and white stuff.

My newest camera acquisitions were a Mamiya RB67 Pro SD and a Wista 45N field camera. I'm just getting started with them and finding it exhilarating.

Hi Jim, and welcome to APUG from Kumamoto! You have a nice collection of cameras and photos -- hope to see some of your photos here as well!

Welcome from another foreigner in Japan

I can tell you, I intend to spend quite some time perusing your father's photos. Fascinating stuff.

Welcome to APUG

from a very long term expat.

oh oh... small world isn't it! Fancy meeting you here!

Thanks Gary: I had no idea there were so many Japan residents here. I guess you could say I'm a long term expat too... sort of... it's complicated.

Welcome to APUG! I've never been to Japan, but if I did go, I would certainly be visiting the camera stores.

Wow! Everyone at dyxum brags about how friendly they are but this seems to be every bit as friendly!
I just got my first several frames taken with the Wista 45N back from the lab today. For some reason they all were rather underexposed. I need to figure out what was going on. But I'll post one that was salvageable. Taken before sunrise at Lake Nojiri in Nagano a couple weeks ago on Velvia 100F.
