so, here i am. after a few years of lurking about i decided to spend more time at APUG.

photojournalist/documentary photographer (actually working) and committed to black+white film and want to expand my knowledge base. have been dunking the ole tri-x in d-76 for a long time but want to figure the home color process out and LEARN while i am on the net.

a bit more about me can be found at www.galler7.com

thanx folks... i was just in Montreal for a few years! i really miss Le' Birdie at Cafe Art Java these days and Jean at camtec.

i made a deal with myself yesterday that if i am going to spend time in a forum i must be learning and this place seems rife with knowledge. i have returned to shooting film for the professional life and i am VERY pleased i made that move. now i need to master color at home!

Colour at home.. Well point us to where you talk about your colour developing/ printing experience and what gear youi have on hand, and we will know then how to guide you. Glad that you found this site.

Another prairie welcome from Manitoba!

Welcome from near Vancouver, BC.

You will like it here.

Matt

Hi, John - I'm in SW Ontario, too (Kitchener-Waterloo) - beer's on me (the first ones, anyway!) if you're in the neighbourhood, just send me a PM. Graham

Hello and welcome to APUG from western New England.

Welcome from Toronto here! Great to know that some others in the neighborhood still love film!

Welcome from Montreal... You will love this forum.

welcome from kitchener/waterloo [also noticed Graham from KW on the previous page!]
if you find yourself in the area and i happen to have chems at the time, i could show you color printing
as for color developing, wal-mart does 1 hour [usually less] color develop-only for something like $2.36... if you're concerned about minilab operators, just wait to speak to the manager of the minilab and explain that you would greatly appreciate if they take utmost care in developing your negs
as long as you're not paranoid, wal-mart is great
if you are, great places in toronto do dip-and-dunk processing

Welcome from Pakenham, Ontario. Just about a half hour from Ottawa. We run an art gallery and you of course are welcome anytime. We can have a couple and talk photography all day long. Don

Welcome from the extreme south. (Point Pelee... stick a pin in the bottom of the Canadian map and you'd put a hole in my roof.) Lots of nice shooting opportunities between here and the rest of the world. Stop by if you are interested in a shoot. (35mm/MF/LF... whatever's your pleasure) The beer's on Graham. :D
