Hello from South Africa

Hello everybody

I decided to make this my first post (I'm not one for really posting stuff, I'm shy that way)

I live in South Africa, where we have a very limited choice of materials (Black and white stuff I mean) Mostly Ilford & Kodak stuff. I mostly use Ilford products (I even named my dog Ilford, because he is B&W )

Anyway, mostly shoot MF with a little 35mm on the side, nothing pro, all for the sheer enjoyment of the black and white darkroom process.

Well glad to be here (I will subscribe 2010, when I sort out a way to pay)

P.S. Is there any other South Africans on APUG, I can't find.

Clogz, baie dankie, I can understand most Dutch, and you no doubt will be able to understand most Afrikaans. (So ons behoort mekaar te verstaan)

Hmmm, I really hope I'm not the only South African on APUG, I know that I am not the only one shooting film here in S.A. (besides the students doing their 1st year). On Flickr we are about 40. It would be nice if we could form our own regional group like the rest of you lucky folk, might just be the smallest one on APUG, but like that would happen...

oh yes, and a happy & prosperious 2010 (World Cup Football/Soccer anyone?)

I am also South African, living at Storms River in the Eastern Cape. Just recently got myself setup for 35mm b&w after several decades.

I was starting to worry I might be the only South African here, what a relief. Great to know there are still some of us down here, that still do (or even better, returned to) film photography.

Thanks for the idea Clogz, I'll check into the Dutch forum,but I still understand English so I don't think an Afrikaans forum would be justified or even needed IMHO.
