Hi Everybody,

I've dropped by APUG several times in the past, but never signed up as a member. Yesterday, I decided to join and become a subscriber as well. This forum has a lot if great information, and the galleries are superb!

I got into photography as a child in the 1970's, and for about 10 years did my own B&W developing at home. When I moved to the US (from the UK) in the mid 1980's I had to sell all my darkroom equipment because I couldn't afford to have it shipped over. I came to the US with only my passport, a backpack of clothes, and my camera bag!

After many years away from the darkroom I have gotten back to film developing. I have a yard sale enlarger, and everything else is from thrift shops. It's been quite a while since I've had my fingers wet with hypo and developer, so am excited about getting back to the traditional darkroom!

In the past month or so I have developed several of rolls of Tri-X (35mm), and have lots of questions which I will later post in the appropriate forums.

It's good to be here!

So you live in Greece & Washington - welcome to APUG

Olympia is a great place nice ruins, but the Stadium isn't as impressive as Aphrodisias :D Just joking I always find it amusing how most American places are named after the owns and villages the first settlers came from.

Hello, Dom. I'm located a bit up the road from you and Willrea.

Dan

Welcome, Dom, from near Washington, DC. Years ago I was out that way and went out in the boonies to a neat place called Alices's Restaurant for a multi-course meal. It was off a dirt road.

Dom, Welcome from over here in Aberdeen (WA, not Scotland.:D.)...Dang, we're almost neighbors..

Hi Dom

Welcome from not too far north of you, in the suburbs of British Columbia, Canada.

Hello from Vashon Island. We should start/do a Puget Sound group or get together.

BTW, there is a camera swap meet at the Puyallup Fair Pavilion on April 4th. Early entry at 8:30am is $20, regular admittance at 10:30am is $6, show closes at 4pm.

Sounds great! I have marked it on my calendar!

Sounds like a great idea, Micheal. I'm only on my 3rd post so at this point I don't know what a Puget Sound Group would be/do! Keep me posted!

I would love to be there but that is the date of our 35th wedding anniversary. My chances of getting to the 36th are way better if I don't even try to talk her into spending the day at a swap meet.

Welcome to the forums from Duvall, WA.

I'll be @ the swap meet as well. Might try swapping my F3P body for a MD-2/MB-1 combo and an F36 motor drive for my F and F2A. Just look for a short & stocky longhaired kilted guy with a beard. That'll be me, especially if there's a Domke bag slung from my shoulder with a bunch of Nikon gear.
