Welcome, glad you found us.
Don't worry about your skills en anglais. There are actually french language forums here, but I don't believe they are as active as the english ones.
I am a native Anglais speaker, but my keyboarding skills are horrid. I can passably read the meaning of things in most written french, but not woth any great speed.
My oral francais is rather poor, but growing a bit stronger all the time; I have two kids presently in school in French Immersion, although they lapse into thier mother tongue around the house.
I tease them occasionally that they are actually enrolled in a english deficiency course.
Most of the computer games they play come from the US, and they are awful with English word spellings when it is one of the 'type in your guess' type of games.
If you can stand the things, a Nintendo DS with the game 'Super Scribblenauts' is a great way to become more proficient to the English language ways of spellings of things
(which I do agree tends to 'breaks the rule' more often than not).
