Hello everyone,Like everyone else on the site my interest is in film photography.I have the ubiquitous Digital camera but I'm drawn toward the proccess of taking photographs with film.In this respect I have no experience and in concequence a complete beginner.I've had a life long interest in looking at photography as an art form and since retiring I thought it was time to start getting to grips with the buisness of learning the art(I have a background in sculpture so I think my eye has learned to see the World with a certain slant)I've browsed the site for a couple of days and it appears to be a 'one stop shop' for everything I will need for my education in film photography, for which I am very greatful. My present 'kit' is a Leica V Lux 1 Digital, An old but pristine Praktica BX 20 with 28mm and 50mm lenses,A Canonet 28,Olympus Trip, and three vintage Medium Format cameras I had given to me,namely a Voigtlander Bess66 and two old Ensigns. So,plenty of cameras but no photographs as yet.I'm so glad I was directed toward this site.

Best Regards Arwyn.

Welcome Arwyn,

Have fun, the Bessa 66 seems a good place start, if you get the bug you will
be looking for an enlarger soon!

Arwyn - welcome to APUG from western New England USA. You've found the best place to learn traditional photogy on the net.

Welcome from Tavistock (Horrabridge, to be precise, but no one who doesn't live there has ever heard of it!)

Steve

As a retired Royal Marine I know it very well Steve, although I mostly saw it at night:wink:Thanks for your welcome.

Another new Englander chiming in, Arwyn. This is indeed a one-stop-shop for finding people who know all those bits you don't - and are willing to share without much attitude attached to the sharing. I know the "old hands" have been kind to me. Ask away... and do as suggested - shoot a hundred rolls or so before becoming discouraged.

Another hello from further west.

Bill

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. This is the best place for film photography period.
