Hello, my name is Carl and I live in Cheshire.
I purchased my first 35mm SLR, a Pentax MX, back in 1983 and about two years later I started working in a photographic shop. It was here where I learnt how to process and print black & white films.
A couple of years after leaving in 1989, I changed over to Nikon and now use FM2's with various AIS lenses which I've managed to buy over the years. I tend to use only black & white nowadays, very rarely use colour, and enjoy processing my own films when I have some free time.
I still enjoy photography today as much as I did when I was first introduced to it. Digital photography has never interested me whatsoever. So, as long as companies such as Ilford continue to manufacture films and chemistry, I will carry on with my hobby.
I should point out that even though I have been doing photography for a few years now, it is purely a hobby. I am certainly not a professional and I feel there is always something new to learn. I hope to be able to offer advice to other members whenever I can, but I'm just as likely to be asking too.
Thank you very much for reading this.
All the best,
Carl.
