Hi Folks,
Im 18 and have been 'in to' photography for about 4 or 5 years now.
I started with a digital compact, and learnt a lot by reading magazines and playing around with a fuji bridge digi cam. I took an AS level in photography a year early at school and completed the A level a couple of years later. It never crossed my mind that you could actually produce good photographs with a film camera, but after using the darkroom at college I was hooked. Besides from photography I do a lot of metal/jewellery work, printmaking and drawing etc, and so value craftmanship very highly, which is why I love analogue photography, you can't beat the hands on process!
Most of my photographs are of the landscape genre, and Ive done quite a bit of experimentation with lith printing. Ive also built and used a 120 roll film pinhole with mechanical shutter.
I use my Dad's old Om10 alongside a battered bronica sq-a from ebay. Also I have managed to convince my parents to let me convert the bathroom into a 'temporary' darkroom, and its almost done (I won an lpl c6700 off ebay for a tenner!), I should be moving in next week.
Anyway I didn't mean to write an essay, but hey ho.
This is a great site by the way, I've learnt a lot already.
Alex
