Hi,

I don't really know what to say so I'll just give a little preamble to me;

I'm 18, from Australia, currently studying at Uni. I use both digital and film cameras, but prefer film. I particularly like B&W and instant films (but still love colour).

Unfortunately, I don't really have the capacity to develop my own film right now (until I rent my own house/apartment at least), so my developing is a bit limited. As is money. Ha!

But on a lighter note, this is what I've been shooting with lately:
- Minolta SRT-303b (35mm, My Dad's)
- Canon Powershot G7 (Digital)
- Polaroid SX-70 (Polaroid, Original)

...and that's about it! Hi!

Hello. All you need to develop film is a laundry sink and a CHANGING BAG. They cost about $40 at camera shops. You might be able to pick one up cheap somewhere. Failing that one can load developing tanks under the bedclothes at night. Where there's a will there's a way. The trouble is, once you've got the negs. then you have to print them. Oh well! I've seen some excellent prints out of those Minoltas, don't knock it just 'cos its old (not that you were). Anyway welcome to to this band of nerdy nutters!
Peter.

Welcome Home Mr. Perkins,

A Minolta 303 ???
I thought I was the only person on the planet with a 303 !
Take good care of that beast !
Definitely get a changing bag, and a developing tank.
You will feel so much more connected to the process as you progress.
Glad to have you here.
Please Spread Your Enthusiasm !
And Enjoy !

Welcome from Melbourne, Darcy. I have a couple of Minolta SRT-101's, one of which I have had since new and the other one was my father's. They are still in great shape, but don't get used now since I caught the Nikon bug.

Welcome, and hello!
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Australia (4 weeks!)... and promised each other that we'll return!
Happy shooting!

Wow, thank you all so much. I wasn't expecting so many replies so soon!

I'm definitely looking into home developing, it's just I'm in a shared apartment and don't want to do it in kitchen sink, and the bathroom sinks are tiny.

One day, when I get all the equipment, I'll definitely take over the kitchen sink for a little while though.

For all those fellow Australians, where do you get your bulk film (if of course, you do buy bulk film), because the cheapest I can find is $100 for 100"...not too bad, but I'm a bit jealous looking at $30-50/100" from America...

And bulk film loaders I can't find anywhere...

Where are you located Darcy? A friend of mine in Brisbane recently organized a group order for folks around Australia of bulk rolls from America, over on rangefinderforum.com
