I wanted to post a quick hello here before I start restating it in other posts.

I've been reading posts here for the last few weeks and finally decided to dive in. ApUG has already been a great resource and I look forward to contributing.

About 12 years ago, I did a lot of shooting with a Canon A1. Unfortunately, it started eating rolls of film at an alarming rate and my day job got busy. I set it down and focused on work for a little while. Fast forward 7 years and I found myself craving a creative outlet again. I picked up a Nikon D70s and got back into shooting; Seattle has a great photography community.

Over the holidays, I purchased a kindly photographers backup kit - initially for the lenses and strobe. It included a F4s. I fell in love immediately with it and haven't been shooting with much else since. It is the first professional build camera. And my goodness, the viewfinder! I can focus manually again!

After a recent photo stroll with a Seattle group, I found myself picking up a Rolleicord IV for myself. And then my wife expressed an interest a Polaroid camera so we picked up a 450.

Film photography grabbed us both and I don't see it letting go.

Hi Brian, from SE WI. My wife's early childhood was in Shelton and and after visiting there 2 years ago, I see why she loves it so much. I have used Nikon's for the last 35 years and although I like my D70, nothing compares with film. Quality, speed, ease of use, film is King.

Welcome from northern Indiana, and enjoy your Nikons and the Rolleicord.

Hello and welcome to APUG from western Massachusetts.

Hey Brian, welcome from Duvall. You may see me from time to time at Kenmore Camera. Longhaired, kinda short guy.

Hello from Parkland. Was just in Seattle a few hours ago.

Hello from just north of you, near Vancouver, BC.

I'll be in your fair city tomorrow.

Welcome from another northern neighbour

Hi from the heart of the Sound, Vashon. How come we don't have a meeting/group for the folks around Puget Sound?
