... where my bride and I live in shack on the Mulberry Fork of the Warrior River. I have always had a camera around, but had shown little abiding interest for almost 30 years until the imminent birth of my first grandchild. My daughter requested I photograph my new grandchild in black and white. So out came the old Praktica LTL3 (a pawnshop find).
My daughter has in her home a framed shot I made of her when she was in infant, lying in her grandmother's lap (shot with an M3, Elmar 5002.8, and Tri-X, developed and printed by me; boy, I miss that camera three decades later), which she always has loved.
I photographed my granddaughter Zella a few days after she came home, using the Praktica and bw400cn. The photos were a hit, and my interest in photography blossomed fully in the year since Zella was born. The Praktica developed shutter and light leak issues, so I went looking at forums to check on M42 mounts replacements. Then came a Honeywell badged Pentax SP1000 and a couple of ebay lenses. Then came a Minolta A5, then a Bessa R, and a Fujica ST605, and a few FSU lenses, then an export model FED-2d, and much film.
My main kits now are the Bessa R with Canon 50/1.8, and the ST605 and Spotmatic 1000 with one normal lens or another. The FED gets some use, too, but it appears the shutter occasionally is capping on 250 and 500. I have a greenhorn interest in macro, using extension tubes ...
Anyhow, there is the photo me.

Hi, and welcome from Western Canada. I don't know the Mulberry Fork of the Warrior River, but I used to spend a lot of time in Pine Hill some years ago.

Thank you all for the kind welcome.
Well, I sold the Bessa R (hand tremors have increased a bit and the Bessa is soooo light weight, and easily affected by the tremors), Canon 50/1.8 and Jupiter-8. I received last week a Yashica Lynx 14E with the fixed Yashinon-DX 45mm/f1.4 lens. What a dense, chromed-out magnificent example of its breed. The meter works perfectly, and the weight and mass of the camera hugely dampen any tremors. I am using the Lynx to shoot my first roll of Portra. Do apug rules keep me from posting pics from film that is store-processed but scanned by me?
